Book the skip the queue tours as waiting times can be quite lengthy at many of the popular attractions.
Avoid taxis if you can as they can run away with a lot of your cash and prices are variable due to unscrupulous taxi drivers.

The best thing is that you can walk everywhere… walking and stopping for a food, walking and stopping for a drink … it’s nice to get lost in the small side streets. Hugo Spritz or Negroni are the recommended cocktails. And, of course, homemade pasta : it’s difficult to find a not good one :-)
You must be prepared for crowds though, everybody wants to see the same.

Florence is amazing - the history and beauty of the buildings and art are phenomenal. However, I would not recommend going in June. We based our trip around my grand-daughter's school schedule and so had to go in June. It was very hot which made the trip hard. We knew it was going to be hot and dealt with it, but if you have a choice, go another time.

Beautiful city!
Beautiful city! Personally I think il Duomo is far more spectacular from the outside (although I didn't climb the dome) whilst la Basilica del Croce is far more spectacular inside, only 10 mins walk away, no queues and famous tombs such as Galileo Michaelangelo, Macchiavelli... So much to see and do, felt safe and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the opera themed concerts I attended in the evenings in beautiful church buildings! Very easy to be vegan!

Everything about Florence is amazing, but I felt robbed when trying to exchange money at a currency exchange office. The fees were extremely unfair—a 19.99% rate plus €9.99 per transaction! Be aware that once you hand over your money, the deal is considered final—even if you change your mind a second later, they won’t return it. I strongly recommend checking Google reviews before using any exchange office to avoid this kind of experience.

A total treasure house so it is best to read up on the city before you go and then make some choices. Check carefully on opening days and times for museums, churches etc. as you can miss out. Try to go beyond the most famous places such as the Uffizi, Duomo, Accademia etc and visit some lesser known places.
Make time to wander and to sit and enjoy a coffee or an ice cream as there are so many extraordinary places to see you can feel overwhelmed.

The location is perfect. So convenient when arriving by train and really close to all of the Florence places of interest. The hotel was nicely appointed, modern but traditional, and we actually enjoyed coming back to the room and sitting in the dappled sunlight with the window open - great way to re-energise before heading back out to see the sights! Having chilled filtered water on tap was also fantastic!
The breakfast, whilst not perfect, was very good for what we'd expect in Italy, with delicious, freshly baked, pastries.
Location is perfect, close to the train station and basically walking distance to all the attractions. Marco is very friendly, he helped to carry the luggage to my room upstairs, also shared many information to explore the city. There is shared kitchen with all the essentials you need, the room is spacious and bed is comfortable, personally I like the powerful shower and fast drying hair dryer, it's the best shower I enjoyed throughout my whole Italy trip, will definitely recommend Marco's way if you visiting Florence.
This was our best stay in Italy! So happy to have stayed here, it is a very chic and modern hotel with all the bits and pieces. Feels like a 5 star experience, well priced and so central. Staff are lovely, rooms are immaculate, ans bar is a real vibe. We would stay here without hesitation next time we are in Florence and we are pleased to hear they are opening more locations across Italy. This is the place you want to stay, it is in a prime location and you will enjoy the stay as it hits all the marks 10/10.
Staff was fantastic and welcoming, we didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but it looked gorgeous. The decor was incredible and so so close to everything you need in Florence. It was our favourite part of our 8 days travelling Italy - the rooftop bar is a must, very romantic, amazing cocktails and staff with an insane view of the Duomo! We didn’t want to leave the rooftop for dinner at all it was so gorgeous
The location is second to none. It was fantastic having a centrally located well-appointed apartment walking distance to all the sights Florence has on offer. Italy has notoriously small hotel rooms, so having an apartment with a large bedroom, renovated bathroom, lounge and dining area was exactly what we needed. The bed and sofa bed were incredibly comfortable.
