Some wonderful views. It's a safe area. Some of the prices are very low and the food is excellent. Two days is enough in Kochi, one day enough in Athirapilly, three days Munnar, three days Kumily. We finished off with seven days in Alleppy which was a day too long. Research on accomodation essential. Don't be frightened of homestays or eating out but be careful and wash your hands properly and often especially after handling food. Bargain down trips and purchases but not too much; people are poor and sometimes desperate for work - don't take advantage by arguing ovr £1!!!Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Lakefront experience, inland from Kochi and slightly different. Less infrastructure. Ok place to be if you are not in a hurry. Quite muggy but that is to be expected for the region. Private beach just 50 meters away. We had our room on the 1st floor with a nice terrace to sit and listen to the waves. Delicious food, lady of the house is a master chef! Great Kerala style dinners. Roasted prawns and fish curry are superb. The owners are super friendly and helpful.
