Uluwatu is great to surf if you’re advanced or a proper intermediate (comfortable solo turning green wave, 5ft +), but it’s not for less advanced surfers or people learning to surf. If you’re Western and looking for home away from home, then Uluwatu is for you. It’s very touristy and instagrammy, lots of Aussies, South Koreans and Europeans. You can’t go to a beach without a photoshoot happening somewhere. You’ll still find some amazing scenery, incredible surfing and good food, but don’t expect to see any locals really living their lives there, it’s all about the tourists, and is a party area reallyGuest review byFelicity - 8.0

Unfortunately, the traffic is atrocious which means people who do not feel comfortable on a motor bike can sit in traffic for ages just to head out to dinner. Lots and lots of terrific restaurants. Stayed only one night but it was enough to get fed up. Horrible roads, taxi "mafia" that makes ride sharing service tricky. I ordered a taxi from the hotel, it cost double compared to grab and the car was awful! Traffic jams all over the place, overcrowded, really a bad experience. If you want to enjoy Bali, go to Ubud, far from the crowds. Uluwatu does not do Bali justice in my opinion. Such magnificent beauty! I loved Uluwatu so much. I will say , most beaches are not easily accessible. I am very afraid of heights, and steep stairs. I will recommend going to Klive beach club, because they have a cable car that brings you down to the beach, or Melasti beach has no stairs. Uluwatu! Bali's edgy beach town, on the island of the Gods, is filled with cafés, surf shops and picturesque roads, the chilled relaxed atmosphere is why so many are drawn here. Three beaches I swam, at the base of a steep cliff at Bingin Beach, Melasti Beach is very popular with domestic and tourists, and Pandawa Beach on the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean. The Pura Uluwatu Temple is an iconic seaside pagoda that sits on a cliff, an old temple, where monkeys rule. I immersed myself in local culture at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park, the statue of the Hindu God Wisnu is one of the largest monuments of its type on Earth, Indonesia’s national emblem, with beautiful gardens galleries, nice food, memorable. Beautiful nature great coffee shops , and dining , you can go do your fitness, yoga , meditation but there are also beach clubs day and night clubs available at night for hang out . You see so many beautiful and good looking super fit people around all the time .
