Perfect location!
We just happened to book in on Norway Independence Day and were right there for all the festivities. The band marched to the end of the street then they ran back to watch the FireWire the whole town running after them.
Our gal that checked us in had to deal with a bunch of young guys that obviously had been celebrating a bit too much. She handled them quite professionally and commented that she was to protect her clientele. Well done!
She also order a take-a-way breakfast for us since we had to catch an early ferry to Hirtshals, Denmark.

Nice room of good size. Pet friendly. Since there was a big dog show and lots of us had to leave early they moved the breakfast so that we could eat before leaving! So perfect service!!! Will come back :)

I was only there for a couple of days as a layover onto my next stop. I wanted to hike the lumber site. I highly recommend taking the trip north to this area. The views were amazing, and it was a pleasant hike and easy for all ages.

Kunstsilo is one of the world's great art venues. The food there was good but not exceptional. While the city itself is OK and has some pleasant areas some of the smaller towns further north are more picturesque.

Very charming village and a great place to stay especially if you take the late ferry from Hirtshals. It is a smaller town but I rate that as a plus as the walkplatz is somewhat limited - which makes me feel comfortable as the people are friendly.

The hotel was located conventiently near both the train and the ferry terminal. When attempting to check in before 15:00 the desk clerk was extremely rude, interrupting and admonishing me for arriving early before I could even introduce myself. We ended up having to wait until 50 minutes after official check-in time to have access to our room. We booked the Presidential Suite and were very disappointed with it. It was old and dated, with dirty carpet, dusty surfaces and missing both the bathrobes and slippers that were listed as provided amenities. Also, it is very annoying to have a mini-bar but no prices.
There was no telephone in the room so the only way to contact the staff was by going to the front desk and waiting in line. The property is very dated and in serious need of a renovation. In addition, the staff could use a refresher course in customer courtesy.

The room was very clean and modern. Bed was comfortable. Very central location.
The breakfast is quite reach in terms of selection and will get you going for the day.
If you need parking and don't mind walking a bit, you could use Gyldengården P-Hus which is a bit further away but cheaper than Torvet Parkeringhus which hotel would suggest you.

The hotel was located in quiet area, close to the water front, harbor and old town, everything possible on foot. The room was quiet, the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, everything was there, whatever one wants. Everything was clean and the staff was always very friendly.

Very clean, comfortable and an ideal location for local amenities. We were in Kristiansand to accompany our son who is studying at the local University. This was only a 6 minute drive away from us too.
