Our stay at Hotel Praia was great. It is located very very close to the airport (we could actually have walked if not for luggage and unfamiliarity with the area), but this did not create any issues because there was no loud noise from aircrafts. The staff are wonderful and super helpful with every question you could have. They helped us to arrange transport into town and some made suggestions for things we could do. They also kindly extended our check-out time slightly at no extra charge, and allowed us to wait in the private lounge until it was time to go to the airport.
The breakfast was also good, though a bit monotonous. But there was a wide variety of foods so this is not too bad
The pool is large and clean, but there are some broken tiles here and there.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

The hotel room was small, but was clean and had AC and a pool and hot water. Breakfast was available for 10 euros extra. The staff was friendly and helped us find Taxis into town and the airport. There is a grocery store about 10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the airport. They let us have a late check out for 20 euros extra.

Loved this small boutique hotel. Run by a dedicated family since its inception and it has everything you need in a hotel. The service is beyond exceptional. The wifi, air conditioning, showers, large rooms, and continental breakfast are perfect and the location is within walking distance of many restaurants and local sites. They even have a small bar with a great selection and my favourite , São Tomé national beer.
Highly recommended.

The rooms and spacious and clean, with nice en-suite bathroom. We were able to exchange some euros into dobras as well, which was very handy! There was also a delicious breakfast for us the next morning, with fresh bread, fruits, eggs and butter and delicious coffee and tea.

Sao Tome island is incredible, even though the slowness of things here can get annoying. Sometime you can't get service even if you pay extra. Taxis are super expensive, so better rent a car or take a guided tour. Actually I strongly recommend to take a guided tour at least the first day. Most people don't speak English, just Portugese.

Very humid and not really geared up for tourists.
Very humid and not really geared up for tourists. Getting taxis unless you speak Portugese is difficult except from a hotel. Mainly cloudy in early March. The museum in the light house is very interesting.
Meals out were variable but often with large portions particularly of rice.

Every country has its interesting sights and so has Sao Tomé. It is worth a visit. It is much more African than Cabo Verde. It lacks however the traditional villages like Benin or Togo. I was a bit disappointed by the quality of its beaches and the snorkeling. There is not much of coral, but there are colourful fishes and large quantities. There are great hiking possibilities in dry season in beautiful green plantation or forests. It is a lot safer than many other African destination. There are beautiful birds, but no large animals in the natural parks.

The host Kwame is a great guy. He is readily available to assist with everything you need. He guided me in everything I needed, and directed me to people who helped me see the beauty of the Island. The accommodation is clean. The staff are very helpful, even with the language barrier. I needed the WiFi for my work and the speed was good. I recommend Monteiro's guest house to anyone visiting Sao Tome. The hospitality is top-notch.
The hotel room was comfortable, had good wifi connection, and the cleaning service was great. Breakfast was good, buffet style. The hotel had good facilities and next to it you had a car rental service, which was also good. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel also had an airport shuttle, which, had I known about it, I would have taken when I arrived at the airport.
Very nice place. Owners very nice and helpful with any kind of request.
Swimming pool veryvnuce to chill out with small bar with very correct prices (rare in Sao Tome)
Claudio Corallo in next door, everything in walking distance. Sea walkway really nice.
Place has been repainted with new colours, look like new and calmed! We liked ;)
Very Central and our First stay in Sao tome. A lot of people Like drivers and guides come to this place, so we were connected to a lot of options and people, which was great for us.
Perfect location for arrival and departure and exploring the city of Sao Tome by foot. Jane, the owner, gave us good advice for visiting locations in town and on the island.
