Parker Cottage was the perfect place to stay while in Cape Town. The staff is so kind and accommodating. We immediately felt at home. Our room was comfortable and met all our needs. The breakfasts were incredible. We were not expecting the level of charm and graciousness. The location was perfect walking distance for many delicious restaurants. We could not have loved our stay more.

The hotel was lovely, bright, fresh and airy as you walk in. Lots of space. The staff was friendly and very helpful in getting to the rooms. The views of Table Mountain and surrounding area were stunning, especially at sunset. Having a rooftop bar was amazing and an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi was lovely. We had a short stay with friends, but made the most of the space. The finishings in the hotel and rooms were lovely. I'd recommend this place to anyone and would stay again myself.

I had a wonderful stay at EIGHTY2 ON M! The location is excellent — right on the main road Sea point, with KFC across the street and grocery stores just next door, making everything super convenient. The apartment was well-equipped with all necessary utensils for cooking, which is great if you prefer preparing your own meals. The bedsheets were spotless and fresh, adding to the overall comfort. A special mention to Bianca (hope I got the name right) at the reception — she was extremely helpful, always cheerful, and went above and beyond by offering to carry my bags and even walking with me to the roadside to assist. Her hospitality really stood out! The rooftop pool offers an excellent view, which was one of the highlights of my stay. The only reason I’m giving 9 stars instead of 10 is that I wish they offered a heated pool, especially considering Cape Town’s chilly weather. While I understand not many places provide this, it would be a valuable addition. Overall, a solid 10/10 experience — would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cape Town.

FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colorful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

We stayed 5 nights in Cape Town before commencing a tour of Africa. Day 1: we hired a driver to take us to the Cape of Good Hope and stopped off along the way at other tourist destinations. It was a great day of exploring the region. Day 2: we hired a driver to take us to the Stellenbosch wine regions. Visited Stellenbosch town for coffee and a walk around and then headed to some local wineries. We did enjoy. Day 3: we did a free walking tour of Cape Town city in the morning and the apartheid walking tour in the afternoon. Tour guide was Tim who was excellent. I would highly recommend. Visit: https://freewalkingtourscapetown.co.za/ Day 4: we walked to the Bo Kaap area of Cape Town where the brightly coloured houses are located. We visited District 6 Museum in Cape Town city area. Both worth visiting. For a great lunch we went to the Gentlemans Club in the city and also Gigi rooftop bar in the Saint George's Mall. I would recommend both venues.

Cape Town itself is absolutely wonderful and definitely worth visiting, especially on sunny days when the city truly comes alive. There’s so much to see and do! For those visiting for a short time, at trip up to Table Mountain is highly recommended including exploring the nearby wine farms, and taking a tour of Robben Island-perfect for anyone who enjoys combining history with a sense of adventure.

Cape Town is absolutely beautiful — with clean, uncrowded beaches, scenic landscapes, and a refreshing, cool climate. The city feels fresh and peaceful, and it’s honestly one of the best places I’ve ever visited. Stays and food are affordable, offering great value, but I did find souvenirs quite overpriced, which I hope vendors reconsider. Most importantly, the city felt very safe, and the overall experience was both relaxing and memorable. Highly recommended!

I am here allways just the weekend when traveling Aputh Africa for work. I love Capetown, (except when it rains) the atmosphere, the vibe, the many things to do, the endless list of good restaurants….. When you stay longer, you can also visit the wineries and do hiking in the mountains…. So definitely a place to go!

Beautiful city, coastal views from most everywhere.

Beautiful city, coastal views from most everywhere. The Victoria and Albert wharf area has great restaurant and bar vibe. I took the ferry and guided tour of Robben island. Very interesting , glad I came. I had dinner at a Tapas restaurant called « SI » food not great, but large portions, drinks watered down too much.
