The bright and cozy bedrooms are furnished with modern Ikea beds with excellent mattresses, and fluffy down comforters with 100% cotton sheets.

The sunny country kitchen has a gas stove with oven and is well stocked with gourmet herbs and spices, fancy condiments such as extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and all the equipment needed to cook up a grand meal including a coffee maker, beans, grinder, toaster, microwave, and rice cooker.
The sun-flooded living room features unique comfortable furniture, and a big flat-screen smart TV with a DVD player. You’ll also find a great library of acclaimed movie DVD’s for your entertainment as well as a stereo system with a selection of world music CD’s. The old attached barn has been remodeled into a cheerful game room to hang out, enjoy the board games and library, or - in colder seasons, make a fire in the wood. Kids especially love this space. The game room has an extra pull-out sleeper sofa that can accommodate 2 more people as needed. Starlink WIFI is available throughout the cottage.
The garden has a special BBQ area with outdoor dining furniture and a special smoker BBQ grill. You’ll find special magic nooks and crannies throughout the garden to sit, relax, and enjoy all the beauty around you.
The surrounding area is spectacular with amazing views at every turn, a geological wonderland. The famous Painted Hills are only 15 minutes away by car, and the other 2 units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, the Sheep Rock, and the Clarno Rock Formations, are between 40 and 70 minutes away by car driving along fantastic scenic byway routes to get there. There is so much to explore and experience here. You can go hiking along the John Day River or in any of the 3 units of the National Monument, hunt for fossils, go swimming in the river, go fishing or boating, watch birds and other abundant wildlife, make some of the best landscape photographs, paint the beauty surrounding you, watch the starry sky in the peaceful nights and just enjoy Mother Nature at her best. After exploring the region you come back to the peaceful and lush garden where you can lay under the apple trees, smell the scent of blossoms, and contemplate your last adventures.
