About this property

Yurt (5m wide) in the Cotswolds perfect for a romantic getaway

Spend a night in our wonderful large 16ft (5m) Yurt, with a double bed, and wood burning stove. The yurt is simply and attractively furnished.

The yurt has a double bed and 1 single futon. It has a wood burning stove, a beautiful Indian wall hanging, kelim rug and bedside tables. There is a sink with hot running water, a kettle and basic kitchen equipment. It has a 2 ring electric hob and a small fridge.

It is insulated and has central heating and electricity so is as cosy in winter as in summer. The Yurt has it's own private fire basket with a grill. Outside there is a small decking area with bistro table and chairs.

You will be located close by to the campsite facilities, including the kitchen which is equipped with pans, crockery and utensils, loos and showers. The Yurt now has its very own en suite, where the boudiour once lived, you now have your own bathroom and shower.

We provide fresh bedding.

Perfect retreat
From the moment we arrived and were met by Swampy the whole weekend couldn't have been better. The Yurt was warm, cozy, and so welcoming and the facilities provided were excellent. The location was great for walking to the local pub which also served amazing food. We can't wait to come back! Thank you both for a wonderful weekend.

About the host

We would love to welcome you to our peaceful campsite situated in the beautiful North Cotswold village of Whichford, near the Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire borders. We are in the Heart of England, in the middle of everywhere, just over an hour from the M25. Come and share this special place, experience the peace of the historic land and the sounds of nature. Enjoy stargazing the dark night sky, watching meteor showers without light pollution. Sit in our stone circle, said by dowsers to emit high amounts of electro-magnetic energy! Our ethos is to provide a peaceful, rustic, outdoor experience surrounded by nature and steeped in history. We therefore want to attract guests who appreciate these qualities and are happy to abide by our rules (see full conditions). Cotswolds camping is situated in the grounds of Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre, the home of the owners, Sally and Andy Birtwell. Here they host weekend residential retreats, weekday classes and holistic therapies, hence we are a quiet campsite. To find out more contact us directly. The campsite is on the site of an old Norman castle - a Scheduled Ancient Monument, with a water-filled moat and is close to many beautiful Cotswold Villages - a great base to explore the areas. Holycombe (taking its name from combe ‘valley’ and the nearby Holy Well spring) is situated adjacent to Whichford Wood, which boasts a wealth of flora and fauna

What makes this property unique

It’s also located a short walk from the Norman Knight, a classic, award winning Cotswold pub, which serves excellent grub and has great live music nights. So after a walk in the woods, or a pint up the road, you can roll back here, light a campfire, in one of our handmade firebaskets and enjoy this peaceful and charming place. Whichford Pottery is also a wonderful place to visit, where there is a stunning garden full of inspiring pots, the Octagon gift shop and the marvellous Straw Cafe. The food is seasonal, locally sourced, hand made, hand baked and even home grown when possible. They have gardening master classes and adult pottery workshops. Our campsite has been the subject of years of planning battles, with a small minority of neighbours, hence our desire for our guests to help us keep to our conditions and to inform us if anyone on site is jeopardising our future.
