As both local “Golden-ites” and natives, we can confidently say that Golden is truly a great place to visit and live and has something for everyone. We’re always happy to give you advice on your stay but here are just a few ideas to get you started planning your vacation…
-We’re pretty lucky to have amazing outdoors that surround us here in Golden. From the pedestrian/bike/kayak-friendly Clear Creek to hiking/climbing the mesas and mountains, you won’t be bored. The City of Golden just opened a Bike Library that is only two blocks from our apartment and allows you to check out bikes free of charge (up to two hours) to tour our City. There are numerous bike trails within a short distance including Tucker Gulch Trail, Chimney Gulch Trail, Clear Creek Trail, North & South Table Mesas, and the list goes on! Only a short distance away, there is also Fossil Trace Golf Course in addition to kayaking, hiking trails, white water rafting, horseback riding, snow shoeing/sledding, and Golden Gate State Park.
-If you’re a foodie and/or enjoy a good beer or spirit, downtown Golden is only a few blocks from our apartment, offers numerous one-of-a-kind shopping, galleries, fine dining restaurants, breweries, distilleries, cafes, and taverns - making it one of the most fun and interesting towns on the Front Range. Coors Brewery offers free tours and there are multiple award-winning craft microbreweries (Mountain Toad Brewery, Golden City Brewery, and Cannonball Brewery) within walking distance.
-Golden is also a family-friendly town with plenty of low-cost and/or free things to do with your kids (or any age for that matter). Nearly every weekend, there is some sort of festival, holiday or event to look forward to in our friendly town. In addition to the plethora of nearby hiking and biking, we have water-activities including tubing Clear Creek (in summer/fall and only ½ block away from our apartment) to swimming at our indoor Community Center pool (only up the hill from us) that includes a kid’s pool/water slide, a lap pool and fitness center. For an educational experience you can tour our History Museums, discover dinosaurs, or plan visits to the National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and the Colorado School of Mines.
- If you’re a history buff, our place is located in the heart of the 9th Street Historic District and only a few blocks away from the 12th Street Historic District. It’s also a short walking distance to historic downtown Golden. Golden was once the capital of the federally recognized Colorado Territory in 1862 and possesses some of Colorado’s oldest buildings. In 1870, the Colorado School of Mines was established and is still a thriving nationally and internationally-recognized university. Other nearby historical and cultural sites includes the Buffalo Bill Museum, Foothills Art Center, Boettcher Mansion, Calvary Church, and the renowned Colorado Railroad Museum.
- Our apartment is also conveniently located only 9 miles away from the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre and only four blocks from the Colorado School of Mines.
-Also, we are happy to work with you on a short term/monthly rate if you would like to stay more than 30 days.
We look forward to your stay!
