Great overall stay- troubles with access
The cabin itself was quaint, off grid, and adorable! Because of that you do have to do work: be prepared to chop your own wood, stoke your own fire, walk uphill to access the cabin, and use the bathroom in the cold. Our group liked all of those things but its not for everyone. They provide plenty of kitchen supplies, fire supplies/wood, games/books, and even offered us snowshoes/skis to use. The outlet in the cabin ONLY connects to USB. The only reason our rating went down is issues with access. We drove a 4WD car and brought chains even though the weather was forecasted well and got snowed in once and almost again the next day. The property owners were endlessly helpful and accommodating in this and even plowed out a snowdrift we would never have made it past- but the county never came to plow the road in our 3 day stay and we were told even when they do its usually past 11 am. Its a great spot for a staycation in the winter but if you were planning on using it as a homebase to adventure from in winter months like us- be aware of the risk.

Wonderful winter retreat
We loved staying here for a winter weekend snowshoeing. The roundhouse was well stocked with firewood and Deb was easy to communicate with.

impossible to find, horrid directions, bad communication from owner
We couldn't even find this place. The directions the owner gave us were like something out of a childrens fantasy book and they did not communicate with us at all on how to find their property. It was impossible to find and we didn't even end up staying because we got lost due to how poor their directions were. Such a waste!!

We are 5th and 6th generation to this land. We are wildlife rehabilitators for the northern mountain region. 22 West enables us to support ourselves and care for injured and orphaned wildlife.

Why they chose this property

We built this cabin ourselves over a period of 7 months. Lots of heart and soul went into it's creation.

What makes this property unique

Sitting at 9000 feet with views in every direction makes you feel on top of the world. Wildlife is often seen from moose, deer, elk, fox, bear and many species of bird.
