The Bee’s Knees of Big Canoe! North GA Mountain Cabin

Bee’s Knees at Big Canoe is a 2 bedroom / 2 bath treetopper cottage located in the beautiful Big Canoe gated community. The master suite has a private bath with a jetted-air soaking tub and a queen size bed. You will find yourself cozy and wanting to be lazy as you look out the floor to ceiling windows. The second bedroom has two twin beds and a roll away folding bed is available if needed. Wifi is available with two smart TV’s, and smart locks give you easy access to the cottage. Laundry room is available for use and located downstairs. The Bee’s Knees is the perfect getaway for couples or small families of four or five. Come and experience outdoor living with indoor comforts. Nestled in the trees, you can sit back and watch the sunrise and spend time on the large wrap around deck, or sit in the hammock or swing below. Our outdoor living includes multiple places to escape and soak in the great outdoors surrounded by beautiful trees, wildlife, and seasonal views of Lake Pettit and Lake Disharoon. Do you want to plan a hike and a picnic? We have a picnic basket and blanket (located downstairs) available for use!

The Big Canoe gated community offers, first and foremost, tranquility! In this tranquil setting you can do as much or as little to make your stay what you desire in this 8000 acres community. Amenities include golf courses, tennis and pickleball courts, swimming club, a fitness center, lakes and beaches, boat rentals, a rock slide, hiking trails, play fields, parks, children’s play areas, nature preserves and more! (Some amenities, including swim club, are additional fees) 2015 Bliss Awards - Big Canoe named Best Hiking Community of the Year "Big Canoe has 22 miles of genuine hiking trails, not double purpose community sidewalks. The well maintained hiking trails lead to waterfalls, Indian trail tree markers, historic moonshine stills and cabins dating back to the early 1800’s. During the spring, wildflowers and Rhododendron fill the forest. During the fall, the forest floor is carpeted with crunchy leaves and falling acorns. The smells and sounds are invigorating hiking in Georgia."

Big Canoe is located only 15 miles from Amicalola Falls State Park, 17 miles from Jasper and 27 miles from the historic town of Dahlonega. Check out the Big Canoe Community and more about the area at the Big Canoe website!

The Bee’s Knees has a no pet or smoking policy. This home is only accessible by stairs.

A comfortable and peaceful place
We were traveling from 8 hours plus away for a conference. Bee's knees was the perfect place to come unwind and rest after long, intensive days. There were amazing restaurants and shopping nearby, just outside this beautiful mountain resort community, plus trails, lake, golf, many outdoor opportunities. We want to return when we can stay longer and have time to explore all we saw!

Perfect Place
This property was perfect in every way! It is furnished beautifully. A decorator must have been involved because it is gorgeous. They have thought of every last little thing. I know reviews often say that, but in this case, it is absolutely true. This place was spotless and had been almost completely renovated. They had plenty of throw blankets, the mattresses and bed pillows were amazing, the kitchen was completely stocked. My mom and I stayed for two nights and visited Gibbs Gardens one entire day and Amicolola Falls the next day. Both are a short and easy drive from this cabin. Big Canoe, the resort where this cabin is located, is super nice! We had no idea. Very, very upscale and tasteful, with tons of amenities we did not even have time to take advantage of. This would be a great place for a family vacation as well as a girls or couple's get-away. We hope to be back!

The Bee’s Knee’s
Everything was absolutely perfect. Gorgeous furnishings, nice accents and beautifully. Set in the treetops! Unfortunately I was a little late, approximately 30 minutes late on my departure. The cleaning lady walked up to the window and frightened me. I opened the door and she explained that she was there to clean the place. I said we would be out shortly and she said they needed to get into clean the place because another group was checking in. I told her she needed to back off and I’d get out as soon as possible. We were out within 10 minutes. I believe 30 minutes past 11 AM. a half hour beyond. The cleaning ladies husband was very confrontational! Used cuss words, and was very verbally abusive. I would highly recommend having a conversation with them. Other than that everything was absolutely perfect and thank you for a beautiful little getaway.
