Cozy cabin
The wood stove was great! But it only heats up part of the house. The breaker box needs updated. We got there and the house was cold. You can only run one heater at a time. Trips breaker. The location of the cabin secluded and fun. Perect for a quiet get away. Half the silverware and cookware were dirty in the cupboards and droors. Dog hair on the chairs and couches

Cozy cabin stay
Found the property relatively easy, had to drive a few hundred yards further than when Google maps said I arrived. Great yard space for the pup to run around. The wood stove was a fun experience for all. The unique staircase was a challenge for the dog, and we had to carefully place our steps.

beautiful location
The cabin was in a beautiful location. Not handicapped friendly as there are uneven river rocks leading into the home. Very step stairs leading to 2nd floor bedroom which required revamping our sleeping arrangements. Very peaceful setting surrounded by nature. Wood stove kept interior warm and cozy. Pet friendly which was a plus.

Just as advertised............Rustic, Remote, and Quiet
Just had a wonderful weekend at the Dragonfly. Robert was one of the most accommodating hosts we have ever worked with and so quick on his replies. Noise pollution is a thing, and this cabin is the cure. Just a couple of helpful hints for future guests.........make sure you print or copy Robert's directions to the cabin. I got there after dark and my not so trusty mapping app stopped me at the intersection of Ridge Road and Proctor by the mailboxes and proudly announced I had arrived. I had no such thing.........thank goodness I had his directions which said to PROCEED past the intersection there and that was a lifesaver as it was pitch dark. The cabin has personality and charm and we really appreciated the books and games to read and play. Be forewarned......our service T-Mobile was nonexistent and it was HEAVENLY! Not sure how the others will fare but be prepared for a wonderfully disconnected weekend. The property is expansive and we explored most all of it. Highly recommend for the above kind of stay........rustic, remote, and so very quiet. Thanks Robert!

A family of four now calling Hood River home, we are often found exploring SE Asia where we lived for four years, skiing on the mountain, hiking and biking the local trails with our dogs, or enjoying all that the Gorge has to offer. Robert does consulting to the sporting goods business mostly in Asia; Pamela is a teacher, artist, and activist; Sofie and Fiona are busy with their studies and enjoying dance, theatre, track, biking, skiing, cooking and golf besides.

As Native Oregonians, Robert and Pamela believe that the Gorge is special in many way and we work to capture that essence at Dragonfly. We let our European heritage (German and Norwegian respectively) as well as our Asian experience influence our lives and enjoy the best that all cultures have to offer.

Our Hood River place is home to two dogs and four cats with the canines enjoying frequent times at our Mosier cabin.

Why they chose this property

We bought this place during a 5 year expat stint in southern China as a place to get grounded during our annual summer homelike stays. It was "on our list" when we first moved back to Oregon in 2002 but felt too remote at the time for small children. Fast forward and we find ourselves often at "Dragonfly" as Robert uses it as an office space, Pamela for creating art and teaching classes, and the kids for various activities. Our family travels often and have seen much of the world, especially SE Asia. We enjoy the tranquility that Dragonfly has to offer our guests as comfortable place to getaway from it all, yet enjoy being close to Gorge's many luscious offerings.

What makes this property unique

Dragonfly is the perfect place to getaway from city and stresses of life in general. Set on a seasonal creek and nestled in the woods, our place is a pleasant place to relax, do yoga, bbq, sip wine and dine with views of the pond and waterfall, or write the great American novel.
