About this property

Winter on the River is magical! Walk to Old Mill and Downtown. Enchanted Cottage

Wow! I started in May 2010 how time flies when you are having fun! I am so happy I have been able to offer this fantastic vacation home on the river to so many wonderful people! Enjoy spring skiing or on the hot and sunny days take a paddle board or kayak out right from our yard! We provide the boards and boats you enjoy the fun! Since we began they have added a surf feature on the river! Surfers paradise ride the wave until you fall off. The city also created a safe passage for floaters so you can put in at the cottage float to Mirror Pond, take the bus up river, put in and float all the way back to the cottage! There are only a few rentals in Bend that you can do that from. We are uniquely situated right on the River between the Old Mill section and downtown. Many guests never drive their car the entire time they are here. Everything is within walking distance from the cottage, including tremendous brew pubs, restaurants and shops. We set out to make our pet-friendly cottage a 5 star vacation destination home and that is how everyone has rated us. You must read our reviews! From the very beginning, our plan was to do everything we could to make your vacation perfect. We provide a lush and welcoming cottage complete with the finest quality furnishings and amenities. You'll discover a beautifully-appointed kitchen with abundant spices and most of the basics you'd need for cooking. The living room has an enormous HD TV with Blu-Ray; the charming bedrooms are attractive and unique and also have new smart T.V.'s We just splurged on new bedroom furniture for the master suite, you'll love it. We also put new flooring in the main rooms, kept the carpet in the bedrooms. The up dated look is fantastic. I want to move in. The baths offer your choice of a roomy shower with the most incredible ornate glass Crane glass, or an antique ball and claw foot tub for a deep soak. There is a full laundry room. We provide welcome wine, a s'more kit for the fire pit by the river; and the wood for the fire also. Coffee beans and a grinder (with regular coffee maker and a French press) and so much more. We have completely decorated our riverfront cottage thinking of your every need. The photos will knock you out! There is all-new flooring and carpeting, as well as all-new furnishings and linens to give it that great resort, clean feel. In 2012, we added new. kitchen appliances. The French doors from the kitchen open onto a large new trex deck and expansive yard directly on the Deschutes River where you can swim, fish or experience any river sports you wish! (There is a fence to keep your pets and kids from the river, when you don't want them down there, alone. There is a very cool outside bar, plus all kinds of dining sets with umbrellas, comfy Adirondack chairs Our Four Seasons: Each season has gems waiting to be discovered. In the winter, Mt. Bachelor is a mecca for skiers and boarders; plus, there are many areas to cross-country ski. Making snowmen with the little kids is such fun. In the spring, you have baby ducks, geese, osprey, eagles and blossoms everywhere. As the greens explode in the trees and everything is in bloom, many of those snow sport fans shift over to golfing, bicycling, running and hiking. What can't you do here in summer? Our summer sports equipment includes stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and floaties (all are provided at no extra charge). Fall brings us the fabulous colors, and things start to quiet down to an easier pace. Relaxing by the river remains a favored pastime, as well as most of the summer sports. We welcome friendly dogs, and they give us solid paws up ratings, too. Dogs love the big riverfront backyard and they can swim right here! It's easy for them to get in and out of the river because we have , and best of all steps down to the water for you and your kids and pets. Last summer, our cottage was rented every single day. The only thing I hate is when we are vacant, because that means someone is missing the vacation of a lifetime. So I will deal for last minute bookings. But if you are really smart, you will book TODAY and receive your desired time. Look at my calendar; you will notice we book well in advance. So book early if I have convinced you this will be one of the best vacations you have ever had. It really will be. Also the safe passage on river brings you right back where you started from if you want to float the river. We also have a pickleball court two doors south of cottage at our house on the river that you can play on.

Amazing location, amenities and more!
Jackie is an amazing hostess with great communication and so helpful! The cottage will exceed your expectations with its amenities, location and views! Kayaks to walk out your back door and into the river. Bikes to access trails to downtown, The Mill district and parks. The backyard is an oasis with tables, comfy chairs and a fire pit. The inside is equally impressive with all the amenities! Comfy beds, loads of pillows, blankets and a stocked medicine cabinet. The kitchen has everything you need and great coffee beans, a grinder and Ninja coffee maker. We can't wait to stay again!

Idyllic life on the river
Not only are you on the river, but you are centrally located downtown. You can float, kayak, paddle board from the property. You can go to the local playground. There’s fifteen fancy coffee shops in walking distance in every direction. I can’t recommend the location enough.

Ray and Jackie Haworth are retired and loving life living on the river in Bend. Ray is a retired LA City Fireman and Jackie ('Jo Jo') is a retired antique store owner who enjoys being a grandmother.

We enjoy all the beauty of Bend's outdoors : Snow Skiing, Tennis, Kayaking and more. We love seeing the eagles fish on the river, and walking to our favorite restaurant for dinner and a movie. We walk everywhere we need to go! We also enjoy playing pickleball in our yard, and all guest of the cottage are welcome. We give free lessons if you haven't played before.

We look forward to meeting you and making your vacation perfect!

Why they chose this property

We live on the River two houses away and we love living on the river so much we want to share the experience with others. Bend is a fabulous find. We love floating on the river, swimming, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, and playing pickleball on our home court..

And of course in the winter, there is skiing, snow-shoeing, cross country skiing, and eating in all the fabulous pubs and diners we have in Bend, within walking distance of our home and rental cottage. Come join us you'll love it. Read our reviews; you'll see yourself writing one of these after your stay with us!

What makes this property unique

We go to the cottage to watch sporting events on the 55 inch T.V. or watch Blue Ray HD DVDs. Of course, if we didn't live here we would come for the River Kayaking, Floating, Concerts, First Friday Art Walks, Skiing, Les Schwab Amphitheater Events, Hiking and Biking, and surfing the wave..

There are so many reasons we left Laguna Beach for Bend, especially the four seasons. Everyone agrees it's a fantastic place to stay, and it would be even without all of the extras we provide such as the stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and swimming right outside your door! And you can come play pickleball with us anytime during your stay.
