Our home is a 3 Story 4,000 sq ft Log Cabin in a Gated Community called Riverbend. We are on the beautiful private 40 acres lake called Hickory Nut Lake or Mirror Lake which is just a mile from the famous Lake Lure where the movie Dirty Dancing was made.
You will have plenty of room for your whole family with 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. On the top floor there is a loft with a sofa. Next to the loft area is a King Bedroom Suite that overlooks the lake.
On the Main floor or 2nd floor is the Master Bedroom and Bathroom, both have high Cathedral Ceilings. The large bathroom has a separate claw foot tub and walk in shower. The French doors in the Master Bedroom lead out to an enclosed lanai overlooking the lake.
The Kitchen and Dining Room with table that seats 8-10 are also on the Main Floor. Next to these is the Living Room with a large Gas Fireplace. It also has a Cathedral Ceiling with high windows overlooking the Lake.
The living room has 2 sets of French Doors going out onto the expansive 2nd floor deck that has a fire pit and several chairs and rockers. This deck extends the whole length of the house including the Master Lanai and over to the Pool Building that has a Large Private Heated Indoor Pool. We try to keep it at 88° but when temperatures drop below 45° then the HEATER CAN’T HEAT THE WATER UP FOR SWIMMING.
There are 2 more bedrooms also on the main floor off a hallway leading into the kitchen. Straight at the end of the hall is a Queen Bedroom with large closet. Just left of it is the other bedroom with Bunk Beds that has a full size bed on the bottom and twin size bed on top. It also has a large closet. There is also a Bathroom and Laundry Room off the same hallway leading into the kitchen.
Next to the Kitchen there is a door that leads to the stairs going down to the Bottom Floor. The first room at the bottom of the stairs is a large Game Room with a wood burning fireplace. There is a Card Table, a Ping Pong Table, Dart Board, and a newly felted Pool Table. This room has 2 sets of French Doors that open up to another large deck where a 7 person spa is set up. The deck extends the length of the house.
There are also 2 Bedrooms on the bottom floor. At the back of the Game Room is a door leading into a hallway and to the right is a garage and to the left is a Queen Bedroom with a Queen bed & Seating Area. The other door in the Game Room leads into a Double Queen Bedroom that has 2 Queen Beds. On the right is a closet and bathroom and on the left are French Doors going out onto the deck where there is a hammock hanging that is big enough for 2 people.
Off the deck is a pathway going down by the lake and over to our dock on the lake where we keep a paddle boat and two kayaks. Up from the dock is a stairway that leads up to the driveway by the garage.
During your stay at our lovely cabin there are many places to explore. One is Chimney Rock where you will be able to view the mountain range and the whole village of Lake Lure from high up on the rocks. Another is the big Lake Lure where you can water ski and fish and try other fun water sports.
In the village there are plenty of shops to browse for souvenirs and shop for food and even have a nice cold ice cream at the ice cream shop. If you haven’t been to this part of the country yet you will love it and if you have we know why you’ve returned. It’s our favorite vacation place also.
