This is an owner occupied property and guests will need to navigate stairs to use the space. This is NOT a pet friendly space. We are both allergic so there are no exceptions.

Guests will enter using the keypad on the front door. Proceed down the short hallway and turn right to access the stairs to the lower level. **You must be able to navigate stairs.**

The lower level also features a private full bathroom with standup shower (towels included), living area with loveseat that has a twin pullout bed if needed, dining/work area, and a rustic bar with two stools.

***Shared access to the main level kitchen is available for stays of 6 or more nights****

****shared Wash machine and dryer available on the main level upon request, but only during evening hours as they are located in my home “office”.*****

**Driveway parking is available for one vehicle - you will see cones in the driveway- please park directly in front of the cones.***

Great place to stay while skiing at Granite Peak

The basement where we stayed was very nice and had plenty of space for 6 people. It can be a bit tricky to find the basement at first as you go through the house to get there but once we were in we had no problems. The house is also conveniently located between the Granite peak ski hill and the Sylvan park tubing hill which was great to be able to do both!

Even Better

Second stay and just as enjoyable with the addition of a very cozy second sleeping area with a music theme. Our preferred spot when in Wausau.

Cozy and comfortable!

The apartment was beautiful. I enjoyed the space and what was offered in the room. The bed was comfortable with plenty of blankets and extras. Tara and Allen were very accommodating and down right wonderful people. I will be staying again the next time I’m in Wausau.

Awesome Spot

This place is so cozy you feel at home right away! The owners are real accommodating and very nice, the suite is decorated so cute and the entire vibe is pure comfort. The hosts have thought of everything to make the stay the best it can be, glad we found this little gem! Will definitely stay again when in the area. You gotta check it out!

I've lived in central Wisconsin my whole life (with the exception of a few years I traveled during college). Allan is originally from Edgar and moved to Wausau 6 years ago. We enjoy working on projects together - like updating our home in 2018/2019, and putting in our own landscaping. We also like to ride motorcycle when we aren't working on home projects. Our favorite thing is meeting new people which is why we love hosting. Your stay will be private but if you enjoy friendly hosts, then you will enjoy staying with us.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is very quite and close to the Monk Botanical Gardens walking space. We have very friendly neighbors and it's easy on and off to the highway. We are within minutes of Aspirus Hospital, downtown, Granite Peak Ski area, and dozens of other natural outdoor activities.

What makes this property unique

We created this experience so it feels as if you are visiting an old family member, not just staying in a rented room. This is not just a house that we own, it's our home. We take pride in our renovations and enjoy sharing them with guests. No need to knock or ring the door bell. You are given a code to get in if we aren't home, otherwise, we typically open the door for you. The 630 sq. foot lower level is fully carpeted (including the stairs) and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The walls are loaded with antique tools used by our parents and grandparents who were farmers and woodworkers. The raw grit and determination visible in these worn tools represent the determination we had while completing the renovations on our home between August 2018 and July 2019. We are proud of our work and look forward to sharing this space with you. This is not just a house that we own to rent out, it's our home. Please do not remove the tools from the wall as they could cause injury. Wisconsin weather can be very unpredictable, so if a guest's outdoor plans are cancelled, we have board games like "Wausau-opoly", Yahtzee, Battleship, Life, Clue, Smart A**, and playing cards; we also have an electronic dart board and many books about Wausau and guide books for other local attractions available for your convenience. The space also features a microwave, coffee pot, regular & decaf coffee, tea, coffee cups , thermal tumblers (to use during your stay), wine glasses, plates bowls, silverware, refrigerator (including condiments like ranch, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, mayo, salad dressing and much more. In addition, guests have full access to the outdoor patio, deck, garden and firepit. Guests will use the patio doors in the dining room to access the outdoor spaces. Solar lights have been added to enjoy the garden and patio at night. The yard is sprayed for mosquitos so you won't get bit.
