About this property

Nature Lover's Paradise! Fishing, Paddling, Hiking, Biking, ORVing Destination

Our cabin on the Little Manistee River is the perfect Up North getaway. Beautiful hilltop views and secluded river access, it's the perfect place to relax after all your outdoors adventures- or just enjoy the peace of the area right from the backyard. We're in the heart of Michigan's Outdoor Paradise: Fishing, Kayaking, Hiking, Mnt Biking, ORV, Skiing, and Snowmobiling are just some of the area highlights! You'll be minutes away from several lakes, more rivers, and trails.

Our cabin sits on 223' of Michigan's premier fishing river, The Little Manistee. Jump in the river right from the backyard to fish for salmon, steelhead, and trout when in season. When you're done playing in the river, enjoy a riverside campfire and listen to "the big one" as he splashes around next to you. (river closed for all fishing Jan 1-Mar 31)

Enjoy the views and sounds of the gurgling river from the back deck, nightly riverside campfires, bird watching, or yard games from our secluded acre of property.

Along with our back deck, we also have a covered porch area with river views and a picnic area with a propane, blackstone grill for cooking up the days catch or delicious bratwurst from the infamous Dublin Store.

You'll find our indoor space to be cozy and welcoming with great views of the river and a propane stove that gives a rustic feel of a wood burning fireplace. The interior is updated knotty pine with a beautiful fully stocked kitchen and an open floor plan. The walkout to the back deck is perfect for entertaining and relaxing with treehouse-like views of the river and yard. Our bathroom is newly updated and includes a washer and dryer for guest use. There are 2 bedrooms one queen sized bed and one full sized.

The river is easily accessible and level at the water's edge- there are great entry spots for kayaking, swimming, or fishing.

Paddlers can take a short float right to or from the backyard or try a float down the nearby Pine River, Big Manistee River, or The Pere Marquette River. There are numerous nearby canoe liveries that provide rentals and transportation for float trips.

There is space at the cabin to adequately park 2 vehicles with space for boat or ORV trailer if needed.

We're in a great location for day trips to Ludington, Manistee, Cadillac, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Traverse City.

We're just minutes away from the Big M Trailhead- perfect for non motorized use such as hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. ORV's can be used right from the cabin, with trailheads like the Big O, Little O, Tin Cup, and Lincoln Hills less than 10 miles away.

Very relaxing getaway
Even though the weather wasn't the greatest, we had a great time. The cabin is very cozy and cute. The property is beautiful and the neighbors (turkeys, ducks, chickens and a rooster) came to hang out - they were entertaining for sure and not at all intimidating. We celebrated my fiancé turning 50 and he loved being able to go out back to fish.

Peaceful
Pictures do not do this place justice! Beautifully landscaped, ferns lining the stairs (which are rustic but beautiful and fitting) had a wonderful stay! Amazing views of the river. I woke up early every morning and drank my coffee on the deck listening to so many birds and the river flowing, it was so peaceful and calming. The cabin is clean and relaxing and has everything u need! All the extra details and amenities were a plus and thoughtful! Love birds?? They have bird feeders and extra seed incase they are empty when u arrive! A bucket of scrap cardboard to help start your bonfires, Roasting sticks for your marshmallows, plenty of spices and condiments, a coffee bar, a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of bath towels, extra blankets and a guest shed with yard games rafts and extra coolers! There is also a Blackstone! Ive never cooked so much on vacation! Im definitely sold on them and we will be purchasing one for home! check out the dublin general store during your stay! Such a gem and great prices! Great selection of meat for dinner, TONS of beef jerky, we picked up fried chicken to take for lunch at the beach, 2.99 a lb! Lunch meat 4.99 a lb! If traveling to manistee stop at two slices bakery! Great sandwiches and the bread is the best ive ever had! Travel a little north and stop at lake bluff farms and check our the sequoia trees and other mature trees in their arboretum!! If you are thinking about booking this gem, do it you will not be disappointed ♥️

About the host

We have a love for traveling and love to explore new areas. The use of vacation rentals changed the way we traveled so much, that it sparked a desire for us to create that same great experience for others. We've learned from each of our stays, just what makes for a great rental, and we're excited to offer that to others with our cabin in Michigan. Our weekends are always spent enjoying the beautiful Michigan Outdoors-fishing, kayaking, camping, hiking, love it all.

Why they chose this property

We often joked in our weekend adventures that "all roads lead to Baldwin". It seemed that every campground, river, lake, or hiking trail we sought out was located in Lake County. On our latest adventure, buying a cabin, we gravitated right nearby, proving that all roads really did lead Baldwin. This area is the center for all of the outdoor activities that Michigan has to offer. With our love for the outdoors and exploring, the cabin is the perfect retreat and a great place for day trips to surrounding areas.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the seclusion and amount of riverfront this cabin has. Watching the Salmon in the river from the kitchen window was an added bonus and the newly remodeled interior provides a cozy space with great views for those chilly nights.
