Did not like that upon check in the valet guys would not let us park up front to get checked in and drop off our baggage. They said resort policy would not let us temp park. For a 5 star resort this is acceptable practice at all other resorts we have stayed at on the islands. You need to fix your policy so that its in line with the rest of the industry. That was a big turn off, avoided using the valet the entire trip because of that policy.

Wow! Location! Swimmable lagoon, safe, clean with sand beach! Wonderful large and very clean pool, never crowded! Absolutely tremendous service from the first to the last minute! Thanks to the amazing manager Rose, who did above and beyond to help us with the upgraded room and then asked every day if we needed anything, accompanied us daily with recommendations and suggestions. All the staff were extremely attentive, supportive and helpful and fulfilled all our requests! We had unforgettable vacation in Fairmont Orchid and will come back next year definitely. P.S. food is delicious in resort, but expensive. There are nearby grocery stores where you can save some money and find everything you need including hot food.

This is our second time at the Fairmont Orchid. The property offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation including a beautiful setting. We were in a Gold Level room and the staff couldn't have been more engaging, attentive, and genuinely helpful. You were greeted with a smile each day. This was a theme throughout the resort. The spa services were amazing. It was one of the best massages I've ever had. We snorkeled on property and saw tons of brightly colored tropical fish and sea turtles. The property itself is very pretty with all of the waterfalls, foliage and palm trees. In an effort to be environmentally responsible, you are given thermal water bottles and there are water stations throughout the resort. We really enjoyed the Fairmont Orchid and will definitely return for future vacations. Tip: If you want a shaded spot at the pool, get down early. As the week progressed, the resort became more crowded. I went down at 8:00AM and wasn't able to find a shaded spot. Also, you can only find mineral suntan lotion on the island because of the damage regular sunscreen causes to the coral reefs. It's effective but leaves a residue on your skin and swim suit. The only area of improvement was the building we stayed in was a little older and needed a refresh. It was by no means unappealing or run down. The room was great with a beautiful view. The wing just needed a little bit of an update. Thank you to the Fairmont Orchid staff for making our stay in Hawaii amazing!
