What isn't mentioned in any advertising is that even though this is a very expensive hotel they lack basic amenities. There is no cell service which makes communication hard.(Not their problem. There is NO Wi-Fi (in this day and age,go figure). There is no refrigerator, no television (not such a big deal) no USB ports to charge your phone and no tea in the room. (It seems Americans only drink coffee) The building is old, has heritage listing. The room we were allocated it sounded like a herd of elephants in the room above and the floor boards squeak badly. We asked to change room which we were given which was marginally better. Woken by footsteps, water in pipes, showers and toilet flushing. There was no milk in the room and when queried was told I could buy it from the coffee shop. When we had breakfast which was $20 (not worth it) the person who came to the table said don't expect any service as we worked last night and again this morning. Shortly after the man at the next table asked if they had hot chocolate. Response: I don't know I only clean tables. To sum up, the hotel was booked out so someone must like it, but I certainly wouldn't return. Great location and nice looking building but far overpriced.

Great location inside Yellowstone National Park. Easy access, very quiet location. Only one criticism, although the room temperature could be adjusted, given the outside temp was -3, would have been nice to have more than a sheet and one blanket! A quilt/duvet or access to extra blankets would have been appreciated.

We very much enjoyed staying in the hotel for a night. We got off to a confusing start though. I think the person who checked us in was new, but they didn’t give us any details once confirmed and didn’t ask if we needed anything else, which was different than what the others were sharing to guests next to me. I went to the concierge though and they answered my questions. The lobby was a nice traditional ambience with the pianist in the evening. The food at the dining room was delicious and all the wait staff were so kind and friendly. Elk roamed and relaxed freely around the property, which was such a cool experience. If you’re waffling between saving a few extra dollars in the cabins or the hotel, I recommend treating yourself to the hotel. It’s a relaxing environment after a long day of hiking.

We were VERY surprised that the hotel did NOT have WiFi. Not mentioned on their site. Also surprised that there were almost no dining options other than the expensive hotel dining room. Dining room was great, but with limited options. Only alternative was deli sandwiches. It's a beautiful hotel, but with limitations.

Lake Yellowstone hotel is a historic property. It is beautiful inside and out. The lobby is a great place for relaxing, meeting new friends or just reading. I would not waste the money on the restaurant, dinner was average and expensive. Breakfast brunch looked and tasted like frozen food just warmed up. Note. There is no wifi or cell service at the hotel, so bring games and good books
