My wife and I had a great time at Skyland. The location was great for nearby hiking and the rooms were nice and peaceful. We ate breakfast in the dining room and had dinner at the taproom, both were solid. If you're visiting the area, its definitely a great option.

Excellent location for the trails and great drive to the property. Staff were friendly enough only complaint is no communication given that breakfast was moved an hour forward so we missed that but not the end of the world with a Starbucks available. Can’t imagine many better spots for staying out on hiking vacations!

It was a very cozy cabin feel, to be on the top of a mountain everything was pleasing. There was good heat in the room. The shower was good. The beds were comfortable. It was very rustic, but that’s what we expected. We would go back again. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, the songs and variety of birds were amazing.

I enjoyed the peace and calm environment of the cabin. It was close enough to get help but also secluded for privacy purposes. I felt very safe there.

I liked that it was in the park and dining was right there. But for the price point it would have been nice to have a mini fridge. A lot of the finishes needed upgrading inside and out.

I know the cabin are pet friendly but keep in mind if you book in this place it can be the possibility the dog next to you are barking and won’t let you sleep like it happens to me. And also keep in mind they could give you a handicap room, in my reservation wasn’t explicit about what kind of room is. Otherwise is ok

Fridge was clacking and woke us up several times…sounded like someone walking. Then at 3:58 am, heard a loud voice. Sounded like it was in the room but wasn’t. Maybe a walk-talkie outside being used by Security? So, no sleep the rest of the night.

We chose to stay in the park mainly to avoid driving in and out the park during our visit to Shenandoah national park. However, we would not choose to stay in the premium room again if we visit the area in the future. Sharing a wall with others means that you can hear their conversations, unless they always keep voices low. If there's loud people, or noisy kids, or barking pets, you might have sleepless nights. Dining options are limited in the park, and not all items are always available.
