Comfortable beds; window could open; aircon understandable and controllable; bath flat so better for showering; self service teas/ coffees topped up each day; excellent breakfast; staff friendly ... it's the way a half decent hotel ought to be but so few are!

The elegant spa town of Harrogate has some of England’s finest Victorian architecture. Lush greenery and colourful flowers also add to the stately atmosphere.
The main attraction is the Turkish Baths and Health Spa, in a 19th-century building which maintains its original Moorish interior design. Nearby is the Royal Pump Room Museum, set over Europe’s strongest sulphur well and detailing the town’s history.
One ongoing Harrogate institution is Bettys Tea Rooms which serves fabulous afternoon tea. Surrounded by the unique shops of the Montpellier Quarter, it overlooks gardens which continue south to meet The Stray – over 200 acres of parkland whose vibrant spring blossom is quite a sight. On the opposite side of town are the Grade II-listed Valley Gardens, whose bandstand hosts summer concerts. The gardens merge into a pine wood which neighbours the acclaimed RHS Harlow Carr Gardens.
Aside from its visual beauty, the town is also important for conferences. Harrogate International Centre is one of the UK’s top convention venues - just one of the reasons why the accommodation industry here is thriving.

Beautiful town… definitely recommend Harry’s walking tour. (Free and very entertaining and informative) we have a tip at the end of it.
Felt safe, lots of restaurants, shops and history. The valley gardens were fabulous too.

Harrogate is lovely and our only regrets were the food on offer in the hotel restaurant plus the attempt to rip me off when the bill came. And we would have liked a bit more time so as to visit Bettys tea shop

Harrogate is a very pretty town and makes a good base to explore the area. It has lots of good restaurants like Piccolino, The Tannin Level or Oliveta and many great cafés including the famous Betty's. There aren't many sights in the town but it's very pleasant just to walk around and enjoy the architecture and gardens. Harlow Carr RHS Gardens is worth a visit. Historic York is only a 35 minute train ride away and gorgeous Knaresborough only 15 minutes on the same route.
Still, you'll need quite deep pockets as everything is at least as expensive as in London.

RHS Harlow Carr is my favourite place to visit and the purpose of my trip. I ate at the Old Swan Hotel where I stayed. Pretty easy to get around although there are a lot of one way streets and sometimes it is tricky to drive down some of them due to double parking on each side as the roads can be quite narrow. I would keep to the main roads next time.

Harrogate is a lovely spa town with picturesque gardens, lovely shops and a lot of historic buildings. Everything is within easy walking distance if a bit hilly. Harrogate has a great choice of places to eat. we will return.
Fantastic Boutique Hotel close to Harrogate City Centre (5 min Walk).
Free on street parking via permit provided by the hosts, no problem getting a space.
Superb nights sleep on a very comfortable bed, the room was spotlessly clean and well equipped.
Breakfast was a particular highlight with lots of choice, fresh produce and excellent quality for a good price
Excellent communication from the hosts before during and after our stay- I'd highly recommend this for a stay- we will return.

The location in central Harrogate is excellent for the Royal Hall and the International Conference Centre.
The room was spotless and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
Breakfast was available at the Camberley Hotel next door and was delicious.
The little things made a big difference eg the quiet bathroom extractor fan and the double glazing on the windows. The curtains were thick and cut out the light completely.
I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
Great value for money accommodation for a new years eve stay in Harrogate the studio is around 25 min walk into the lovely town centre where we enjoyed an afternoon in several bars with cold bath brewery bar being a must for anyone visiting. Studio 22 is exactly as advertised nice and modern with everything you need. A great alternative to the hotels in the centre itself that were 3 times the price and free parking on a quiet leafy street a bonus will def stay again
We love Harrogate and have stayed at the crown a good few times and never really had any complaints. But on our last stay…Breakfast which cost £13 each was appalling. We stayed 3 nights. One morning there was no yoghurt, we had charcoal croissants, hash brown’s that were rock hard & mushroom that were not cooked. We complained to staff about this. But obviously nothing was done. This has put us off staying at the Crown hotel in future.
Everything was great - the property itself, the hosts, the room and facilities were all as hoped.
The preordered breakfast was so tasty - high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection.
The location was ideal, a short walk to the centre and where I needed to be for a few days in Harrogate with work.
I found this hotel by chance and aim to return as soon as I have the chance.
It was only a fifteen minute walk into Harrogate , passing the railway station on route, which has regular trains into York (40 mins). The property felt like a granny flat attached to the owners property (that’s not a bad thing). Equipped with everything you need, not badly furnished, off street secure parking at the property was a bonus. Overall not bad value for the price 😀
Everything about the hotel was really good for me, the parking at the rear (£10 a day) is very good, the food both breakfast and dinner plus very good value for money, it’s location is right across from the exhibition centre and it’s central for most attractions in Harrogate plus the staff were ever so helpful and attentive it’s a 10 all round for me.
This property is beautiful and located in central Harrogate. The rooms offer beautiful views of Harrogate’s iconic landmarks and is less than 10 minutes from the train and bus station, movie theaters, most restaurants, bars and clubs. Even the iconic Turkish baths is just up the road. Next time I come to Harrogate, I will be staying here again.
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Harrogate, only a short walk to the shops and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious with all the necessary amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely with many different options to choose from.
Beautiful hotel in the perfect setting. From the moment I arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and fresh with good facilities. Harrogate town centre is within a couple of minutes walk but the hotel overlooks beautiful green parkland.
The hotel is beautiful I can't speak for all rooms we stayed in a deluxe double and it was beautiful loads of space really comfy bed clean and warm location is brilliant right in the centre and easy to find we really enjoyed our stay and will be back
Perfect location, close to the town centre and the lovely Harrogate Stray. We only stayed overnight so didn't really make much use of the facilities but have been to the hotel restaurant in the past and know its very nice as well
As it was BTME week accommodation in town centre silly money and the Pine Martin when I booked came in at £99. The staff were excellent and the hotel on a bus route to Harrogate (approx 200m from hotel to bus stop)
I was in Harrogate for one night and this hotel met all my needs . Excellent central location , value for money.
Good varied breakfast the following morning.
