Lots of social activities planned by the hostel. Great family dinners and staff were awesome. Cool vibes and very social! I did a yoga class during both mornings I was staying, and they were great!

We really liked the location of the cabin right on the lake with a great view on the lake and the volcano. Right in front, you can rent kayaks and SUPs which was very practical and a recommendation.
The cabin had a comfortable bed and a nice terrace from which you could view of the whole garden. Also practical that a kitchen is included in case you want to cook and they provide filtered water.

Hotel was super friendly and welcoming for all types of travelers, families with young kids included. Very helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable staff and well kept facilities; it felt like home and we enjoyed spending our free time there (i.e., there was no need to seek out restaurants to hang out at to pass the time). Sufficient hammocks and lounging spaces were always available - critical for our enjoyment. Breakfast was nutritious and we appreciated the limited use of the fridge. Location was fantastic. Views were breathtaking.

The staff were really helpful. The sign of great customer service is the way staff react to problems. We had a couple of problems that the reception staff solved quickly and efficiently. The place has a great vibe and the restaurant served pretty good food too!

Beautiful views of the lake, close to Panajachel.
Beautiful views of the lake, close to Panajachel. Rather quiet and not many options of restaurants and activities.
There was a nice café/restaurant up in the village (you can take a tuktuk to go there) with good food and great views.

A small, quiet town.
A small, quiet town. For visitors there are a couple of hostels, numerous holiday homes and some options for dining out but visitors typically need to give notice ahead of time. Our family enjoyed a few meals at The Iguana Perdida and Holy Tortilla - both were great options and enjoyed by our family (toddler and teens included). We found the views from this town the most stunning and resting here was easy as it is quiet at night. If you prefer to be somewhere busy and don’t want to take a boat to get there, this is probably not the best fit for you. If you do book a casa in Santa Cruz, be sure to bring groceries from Pana as there are just small tiendas and minimal fresh foods for purchase.

Santa Cruz is the pueblo way up the mountain.
Santa Cruz is the pueblo way up the mountain. Down by the lake are some hotels, including 'Noah's Arc' where we stayed. The location is spectacular, with views across the lake to the volcanos. There are flowers everywhere. The lake is clear and clean for swimming. This is a perfect place to relax, watch clouds form over the volcanos and just re-tool.

Great people -- I had an awesome time visiting the town a couple different nights while staying down near the docks -- get a tuk-tuk up and walk back down --- no problems at all. Everyone treated me very kindly. I want to return as soon as I have the opportunity. Santa Cruz La Laguna is beautiful, safe, and the people are friendly.

Very small town with virtually nothing going on.
Very small town with virtually nothing going on. It is very steep terrain so use a tuk-tuk to get up into town. Cecap has a great restaurant and gift shop but if you want to eat dinner out you must make a reservation by 3 or 5 PM depending on location ( there were like 3). If you are cooking your own food bring groceries with you from Pana or elsewhere, as the town is a food desert. The locals are about the nicest, warmest people you’d ever hope to meet. This is a wonderful tranquil base to explore all Lake Atitlan has to offer.

The property is located smack in the middle of a 900person village that is not yet fully engulfed in tourism. So this is an excellent choice if you plan to take village community life in from the Lago Atitlan. Additionally it is only a 30-45min walk to Santa Cruz passing by Isla Verde and Casa del Mundo so nice views on other hotels and resorts. The Art&Coffee is a place in the making with forthcoming friendly staff and ideas for the future. We cannot account for how they will turn out but wish the owners all the best in realizing them.
This place is incredible.
We stayed in the treehouse suite which has everything you could need for a short stay.
The view from the hotel is beautiful. The architecture is amazing. There is a path at the side so you can take a little walk along the lake to the neighbouring town and pass all the other beautiful hotels and gardens. Staff were great.
Only had soup and dessert at the restaurant but was also still very good. Highly recommend!
Iguana Perdida has great energy.
The owners are dedicated to their property and to integrating with and supporting the local village.
Staff are friendly and facilitate interaction with other travelers. There are lots of places for quiet time or interaction. I enjoyed the shared meals and evening events. The beautiful new yoga studio has daily morning classes. (For a treat, I also recommend scheduling a massage with Eugenia.)
Beautiful view and location in a nice area on Lake Atitlan. Clemens was a great host and assisted in arranging private lanchas for arrival and departure. The kitchen facilities are nice to have and it is good to follow the suggestion to buy groceries in Panajachel before coming to the house. It is a very private location. Especially enjoyed the hammock and watching sunrises and sunsets from the porch.
The most amazing hotel. From the staff, to the grounds, to the food and the service, this hotel was the most wonderful place. My fiancée asked me to marry him there and there genuinely would not have been a more special surrounding. Astrid was also amazing as were all the staff we interacted with. Thank you for an amazing stay!
Perfect location! We had relaxing days right in the nature and really enjoyed it. You have the opportunity to rent kayaks and SUPs right in front of the property. There is also an awesome restaurant at hotel island verde which is only 2 minute away! We also loved to travel by the boats and visit the different towns.
The hotel property was very well kept and the view from the room was stunning. They had a cute garden in which we sat practically all the time and we could swim in front of the hotel as well. The communal bathroom and showers were also very clean and we loved the water pressure. The restaurant also had good food.
The location was good, right by the dock! The village was a bit up the hill but not too far away :) The hotel is very cute, full of plants and with an amazing view! At night there is a campfire sometimes :) Room was clean and comfortable, staff is very nice! The food is good, not great.
What a lovely little lakeside hotel! Perfect rooms/cabins and most of them facing the lake with a small patio and chairs. The restaurant was ideal for breakfast and dinner. So much nicer than staying in the larger, louder towns around Atitaln.
The view of the lake and two volcanos was the best; the hotel has some nice garden and some common seating areas, which could be better used; the room was nice but not great. there was a good vibe but that’s not enough.
Nice location on Lake Atitlan with some breathtaking views. it was conveniently located near where our daughter was staying. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The cabin was clean and comfortable.
The property was beautiful, and perfectly located. Every morning I got to wake up to the most outstanding view of the lake and volcano, with a beautiful walk to the local restaurants and activities.
Owner is wonderful. So nice and kind. Pretty views of the lake. Large room and very clean. Great shower. Yummy breakfast. Hotel is up a large, sleep hill. Take a 10 Q tuk tuk to get there.
if you don't take a taxi boat to Pana you are basically stuck in the restaurant hotel with poor selection only vegetarian food. the boats stop running at 7:30 pm. not much you can do.
Art & Coffee is a lovely place. The owner Tao is super welcoming and friendly- will give you many suggestions on things to do in the lake.
The room was super clean and comfy!
