FAQs about hotels in Bordeaux

A Taste to Suit Everyone’s Palette

Raise your wine glass and toast the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. The city itself has spread outwards, rather than upwards, and the result is a very pretty town center, filled with stone mansions and terraced housing comparable to Paris.

Cultured Bordeaux is filled with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Musee D'Aquitaine. The streets provide an equally interesting exhibition of fine architecture including the Victory Arch and the Aquitaine Bridge. On the shores of the river lies the Les Chartrons district, which is a blend of ferry boat rides, picturesque views and buzzing nightlife while the bars and cafes in the La Victoire district are frequented by students.

A tour of the famous vineyards is probably on the itinerary and this can be accomplished by visiting the wineries and châteaux privately or as part of a tour. You can also worship the wine gods at the Bordeaux Wine Festival held during the summer.

Visitors can easily make the short trip to the heart of Bordeaux from the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. With 70 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com allows you to discover the vibrant and friendly heart of the vineyard region.

Absolutely amazing city! It's lively and just so beautiful. I could have spend another few days exploring everything it has to offer. Highly recommend Mama Shelter for drinks or food. It's a great rooftop bar with wonderful views and a perfect place to relax when the weather is nice. I also did a wine tour of Saint-Emillion and wished I had time to do others. This is a dream destination for anyone, but especially those that want to explore wine, of course.

I recommend Bordeaux for its rich history, stunning architecture, and exquisite wine. The region's picturesque vineyards, quaint villages, and cultural heritage offer a delightful experience for travelers like myself who appreciate wine, gastronomy, and history. Exploring iconic landmarks such as Place de la Bourse and the Bordeaux Cathedral adds to the charm of this enchanting destination.

Great place to visit with lots to do and see. We went for the big Quinconces antiques fair, Imax cinema and the Bassines de Lumiere Tintin which was excellent. Ate in Irish Malone's pub as served food until 10.30pm. Only drawback is Parking which is very expensive, roughly about 20-25 euros a day.

Gorgeous boutique hotel. Loved the decor and trendy ambience, but still inviting and comfortable. In a perfect location, in a quiet street yet only a nice 10 minute stroll into the centre. Plus on departure day it was just a 2 minute walk to the Tram stop to go direct to the airport in 30 minutes. Staff were lovely and helpful. Room was very well appointed with excellent bedding, huge shower room with lovely toiletries and immaculately clean. Would 100% recommend and would stay here again when back in Bordeaux.

Very clean and quiet location. A little too far from the centre as there's no close transport so car needed. Great staff at reception, very helpful and decent in the restaurant although that young team seems to sometimes think it's home and not work place. Some prices are disrespectful for such location away from the city centre: Tiramisu: 10 euros.. The breakfast has limited quantities and on offer, always short of scrambled eggs. Lunch is quite good and good atmosphere as workers nearby go there.

We loved the location, the comfortable bed and cozy linens, the spacious room & artistic decor. The hotel had excellent communication and helped us drop off our luggage, even before the check-in time, even though they were not there. Our favorite part was the tourist guide and recommendations provided by the hotel. Lastly, the air conditioning worked so well (almost too well) so we could be refreshed after a hot day in the sun! We would love to return to Bordeaux and to Maison Fredon.

The hotel offered a well-priced room very close to the Bordeaux train station. For those, like us, with a bit too much luggage, that proximity to the station was priceless. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel harbors features that suggest it was a very elegant palace some years ago. It is now more utilitarian, but it still has all the features one needs when in Bordeaux, with close proximity to the central old town as well.

The hotel provides basic accommodation near the centre of Bordeaux for a very reasonable price, as well as a restaurant that also serves breakfast. The bedrooms are very small, but functional. The main draw is the car park, which is convenient especially for travellers who want to stay in / near the city centre but would prefer to leave their car in a secure location; parking isn't cheap, but it makes your life a lot easier.

Great location, walking distance to every part of city centre. Very comfortable accommodation - one bed apartment. Kitchen very useful for breakfast and supermarket nearby. Apartment was on 5th floor, no noise and we slept very well, staff are very kind and helpful. Decor perhaps is a little bland in apartment but otherwise it was perfect. I would strongly recommend this aparthotel as an ideal base in beautiful Bordeaux.

We have stayed here 3 times now, as a short stopover on the way to or from southern France or Spain. The tram from the train station takes you to within 5 mins walk of the hotel - which is located in a pleasant pedestrian area and close to many restaurants and bars. The rooms are fine, beds firm but comfortable and the rooms we have had have all been very quiet. Staff very professional and welcoming.

This property had the largest living room with a 12 foot ceiling of any of my stays during a two week trip to Spain and France. It was very centrally located in old town Bordeaux and was a short walk to many of the sights we had on our list to see while in Bordeaux. The host was very accommodating and helpful with a great suggestion on getting to the airport cheaply.
