We were there in the winter and so things have very short hours of operation, and that’s if they’re even open. There are a few restaurants and a good grocery store. Beautiful, snowy vistas, but don’t expect lots of things to do or many places to be open except Thursday to Sunday.

It was a very cozy, comfortable experience. The hot tub with the view of the mountains was fantastic. Because if Covid, staff was limited. In fact, we only saw one staff member the entire trip and that was in the restaurant upon arrival. Each season is pleasantly different so make sure you take advantage of off season as well as the high season. Do expect that some businesses are closed or have reduced hours after mid October, but those that are still open definitely meet your needs.

Once upon a time I worked for the Forest Service here. Stanley will always hold a special place in my heart. i'm glad we traveled here before the summer season started, because we had the place practically to ourselves. Visit Stanley and explore the Sawtooths, just do it before or after everyone else does ;)
