Brand new mother daughter ski duo had amazing success with SkiBig3 Banff Adventure Hub gear rental and private ski instructor. Skied 3 days. Also enjoyed dogsledding in Canmore! Totally exceeded our expectations! Shops were variety of price points and restaurants offered a variety of options. Every turn of your drive was breathtaking! My teen stayed off of social media and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery during our drives! Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly in this town!

It is an absolutely charming town nestled in a most beautiful natural environment. The people were all very warm, kind, and helpful, although interestingly, they all (but one person I met) seemed to be from the UK, New Zealand, or Australia. But the accents were great, and so were the people. Next vacation... Australia! Back to Banff... a great getaway whether for skiing in the winter or simply unwinding, reflecting, and pondering the next steps, or getting your dream girl to say "yes" to the ring.

Banff and the surroundings are very picturesque and the towering Rockies add to the grandeur of the place. The ride in the Gondolas and the walk in the snow at the top is something no visitor must miss. Lake Minnewanka in all it's frozen splendour with the cabins in it's midst is spectacular when the sun comes up. Lake Louise - a few Kms away - is also something to behold. All in all a fabulous place to spend a few days.

There was a severe lack of snow this year (an el Niño year) which interfered with some of our planned outdoor activities, and meant we had to drive to Lake Louise for decent snow. We largely avoided downtown Banff because of the large number visitors and tourist shops. Parks staff at the information centre were very helpful.

The Banff YWCA exceeded my expectations. I stayed for 2 weeks as a solo traveller. For me, a luxury hotel is not important as I prefer to be out exploring and just needed a place to lay my head that was budget friendly. The room was very basic but clean and comfy. There’s a full size fridge and microwave for guests to use in lobby, ice machine and Coinamatic laundry facilities. The location is perfect, right beside the river and just a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to downtown. Staff was excellent as well.

We booked a room with “limited view” on bookings.com. In a resort town like Banff, limited view means there is a view of scenery however limited. Our room is half underground and half above ground with a window to an alley in the back of the hotel. We had to draw the blind all the time because the room is so dark we need to turn on the light. And to protect our privacy we had to close the blind. So “limited view” is a complete misdescription of the room. There is no view. Period. So no we do not like the property.

The hotel and rooms were very clean and modern, the staff were really friendly and it was situated right in the centre of Banff Main Street so everything was walkable. The amenities provided in the rooms were very good (drinks/fridge/toiletries/towels/hairdryer etc) and also, they have a rooftop hot tub available as well as bar/restaurant within the hotel. Also, parking spaces are available to guests which was ideal for us as we were driving to the ski resorts each day. Would definitely return to this hotel!

The staff was friendly and helpful. Even before we departed the United States, the hotel 'concierge' swiftly and successfully booked Banff gondola tickets through Pursuit and bus transfers from/to Calgary and between Banff and Lake Louise with Brewster Express! Although the Royal Canadian Lodge was one of the hotels located furthest away from town, it was a relatively short walk there, and the shuttle stop was steps from the front door.

The place! View was amazing. And photos do not make justice for it really one needs to see this with one's own eyes. I think even better than the view of Fairmont hotel because it oversees Banff and Fairmont hotel and the dramatic backdrop behind them plus lake on the side plus green trees in 80% of one's sight. Simply perfect to grasp what this amazing place on earth really is. Bed very comfortable. Cheerful and talkative staff.

Outdoor pool was amazing and had a bar! Restaurants we’re fab as were the staff! Free bus shuttle into Banff town which we used twice - lovely shops and restaurants - so well worth dragging ourselves away from fairmont for a few hours.

We were only 2 guests, so having a queen-sized bed all to yourself was wonderful! The room was very big and spacious, as well as the bathroom. The cabins were cozy small but enough room to do everything you needed. Heating them was east, a little too easy, in the well-above freezing temps. These would be great in dead of winter. And the locations was so convenient to Banff and Lake Louise just 30 minutes away in either direction.
