We were traveling with 3 kids, so we appreciated the family room setup with bunk beds so we could all stay together in one room. The kids loved their special hot chocolate tray! The pool was great, and we also enjoyed the silent disco while we were visiting. The warm croissants and pan au chocolate at breakfast were particularly appealing to my kids, and the play areas in the dining area were nice to relax as adults while the kids were busy. The hotel is very close to Fistral beach and the rock pools, but we could still walk to the downtown area for dining and shopping. There is a playground near the golf course that my kids also loved.

Newquay has that laidback feel that goes hand in hand with being England’s undisputed surfing capital. The centre of the action is Fistral Beach whose swells and Cribbar Reef produce some of the largest breakers in the British Isles. The long, sandy beach is backed by tall dunes which give way to Newquay Golf Club.
Great Western Beach lies below sheer cliffs one street from the train station, while Towan Beach by the picturesque harbour is the closest to the town centre. Tolcarne Beach is sheltered in its own bay, as is the wide stretch of sand at Porth Beach whose northern coastline is 2 rocky headlands joined by a narrow footbridge over the sea.
Each beach is overlooked by luxury hotels with spas, cheap hostels and self-catering apartments on Booking.com. All are surrounded by Newquay’s restaurants, bars and clubs which offer the best nightlife this side of Bristol.
More leisurely pursuits include Trerice manor house in the countryside near the Lappa Valley Steam Railway. Buccaneer Bay and the Blue Reef Aquarium are popular with families, as are Waterworld and Newquay Zoo within Trenance Gardens.
Another favoured spot for a walk are the salt marshes by the River Gannel which is a prominent sight as you descend into Newquay Cornwall Airport.

If you go for service or a swim on a hot day, probably you will enjoy yourself. If you are on a city trip, you won't be pleased with Newquay and run away to atmospheric St. Ives. We didn't feel like it was a happy place, more of a Benidorm for flat beach entertainment. It is hard to find a nice place for a tea and scones. It is a bit derelict and has the feel of a lack of care. But that is common at many seaside resorts in the UK. A pretty view from the Aldi parking and further the only kind of highlight is the harbour. But you've seen that in a few minutes.

We enjoyed Newquay.
We enjoyed Newquay. It was much improved since our last visit in the summer several years ago when it was very hard to avoid drunken teenagers. We were less impressed with the amount of dog mess on all the pavements.

We are an older couple in our sixties, so Newquay maybe does not hold the same appeal to us, as to a younger couple with kids, but, it was certainly a great base for exploring Cornwall.
We have to say that we did feel a little intimidated by some of the 'locals' around the train station. but that might just be an age thing.
The beaches and shoreline was very clean and well kept, and loved watching the surfers.

Fistral beach is beautiful and the walk to Pentire point...
Fistral beach is beautiful and the walk to Pentire point overlooking Crantock is stunning. Newquay town is a little rundown but has everything one needs, more beaches with lots of steps so you need to be fit!
The hotel its self, inside and out looked better then reviews stated. An old fashioned feel to it, yes a bit warn down but I felt it added to the theme. Staff were friendly and helpful to their abilities. We only had breakfast once which was good, fair few options even for dietary needs, eg some vegan options for myself, although i had to request different milk and sausages. Great location in the centre of Newquay and easy to find. Although we didn't use them there was a pool and a gym.
Truly amazing place in perfect location. The owners have everything under the control which makes the facilities top notch! Friendly, well organised, clean. Superb breakfast! The location couldn't be more perfect-amazing walks on your doorstep, two beaches (Porth Beach and Whipsiderry-a true gem!) in 2mins walk. 20 mins pleasant walk to the east to Watergate Bay. 20 mins pleasant walk to the west to busy Newquay town centre. We would come back to this hotel-definitely yes!
Everything about Longbeach was amazing. the location was perfect so close to the beach and town centre. The rooms were just what we needed and the price was so good.
on top of that the drinks prices were ridiculously cheap and by far the cheapest in Newquay.
Andrew was a phenomenal host and provided us with lots of info on the area and walking routes to take. He was always there to help out and chat to.
Couldn’t recommend this place any more!
the staff were amazing
we have stayed in many Hotels in Newquay over the years and this time we were blown away. It was good to have good old fashioned service and quiet piano music playing even the children / teens commented on how nice it was and so relaxing. it was good that there was very little 'tech' as it really gave us time to properly relax
I reached the hotel earlier from the time that I could do the "check-in" and they were so kind and told me that they can prepare the room and I can go earlier. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast (you pay extra 10) had a buffet and many options. The location was near to an extraordinary view and not far from the city centre.
Location, location, location! Breathtaking views and close proximity to Newquay centre. Upgrades have and continue to be made and those complete to date and excellent. Bus stop serving Newquay Airport and Padstow literally opposite hotel! Staff were very courteous and friendly especially Julie who certainly enhanced our stay!
Beautiful location, lovely hotel, beautiful views and everything we needed. There was a weekend wedding celebration going on, so it was a bit noisy at first, but quieted down in the late evening and we had no problems sleeping. Breakfast was especially wonderful.
This is our fourth stay this year at the Pentire Hotel and our welcome, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff could not have been bettered. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we are already looking forward to our next visit this coming April in 2023.
The hotel is in a great location of Newquay town centre which meant we could walk to the plenty of beach's including Fistral beach! Hotel refurb has been nicely done, very modern and clean. All the staff were really nice & helpful with any of our quires.
Located downtown Newquay but that is the only thing about this property. Host is barely accessible, it is hard to find the entrance and the place is totally filthy with black molds on the walls when you get in.
The place is really tidy and clean. The staff is very helpful and nice and makes you feel really comfortable. Whenever we travel back to Newquay we will definitely try to repeat to stay with them! =D
The hotel's location was perfect. Close to the city centre as well as beaches.
Fiona was utterly helpful and kind. She responded quickly to our demands.
I can highly recommend Priory Lodge Hotel.
Central location to visit Cornwall. Nicely situated in Newquay close to the beach. Thoughtful hosts and very easy to communicate with. Property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Great hotel, simple but exceed my expectations for the price. Marissa (the girl from reception) did everything to make us feel at home. The hotel is very close to the beach and also city centre.
