Beautiful old city. Local people are very friendly for the lost and wandering tourist. If you’re into luxury shops, ornately decorated buildings and atmosphere, Luzern has it all. Fine dining restaurants but you can eat cheaper in a lot of smaller establishments. Close to the Pilatus, Titlis, Vierwaldstaettersee and those picturesque wooden bridges over the Reuss.

Lucern is one of the most beautiful city in Switzerland.
Lucern is one of the most beautiful city in Switzerland. Occasionally we stayed there during a Carnival (Luzern Fastnacht) . We enjoyed the show. The city itself is amazing. If you visit Lucern , don’t forget to visit also the Verkehrshaus.

We were weighing up whether to stay in Lucerne or Zurich and were so pleased that we chose Lucerne. The old town is beautiful, very safe and spotlessly clean. The train station is very central and the boats for the lake cruises are really easy to access. It was like being in a postcard picture with beautiful views everywhere. We found both the accommodation and food better value for money in Lucerne and would definitely recommend it for a 2-3 night stay.

Great city, lots to do, lovely, friendly and helpful people...
Great city, lots to do, lovely, friendly and helpful people in every part of the city the people all very relaxed. the city it self it is like to life in a picture. On the first day I had the feeling is all not real.the is clean and well looked after and in every part is history or a fiewing point and when you turn round you see always something new and nice.
This is one of the cooler, more unique hotels I've stayed at in a long time. There is a lot of history and charm inside the rooms, and each one is a little bit different. There are a lot of nice design touches that make you want to spend as much time in the rooms as possible. It's also very central to Lucerne with a little cafe on the first floor. It's self-check and no front desk, but I did find generally speaking the team was responsive through Booking.com and the staff in the adjoining cafe are there to support you as well.
View View View .... If you woke up and opened the window and get to see the view daily, This is the place to go. A serene home run hotel/restaurant tucked in hills of lucerne away from city.
For a family run restaurant the Breakfast was great. Staff was great .. Joshua the owner is cool.
Kids will love the place, small but good play area. Pet friendly... kids loved the hotel cat!!!
Just sit and relax the view!!!!
I have been in Radisson in Helsinki and Tbilisi and had always a great experience but this time in Lucerna it was really SUPERB, helpful and very kind staff, great breakfast and shining room. I travel all around the world and stay in the best 4/5 stars hotels: I know what I am talking about... Really congrats, I would not stay anywhere if again in Lucerna and recommend it to all my friends!!!
The location of was perfect, right on the lake and beautiful views. It is one train stop out of Lucerne and a short walk from the train station to the hotel...or about a 20 minute walk along the lake to get to Lucerne. Perfect. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was great, rooms were cleaned each day, minifridge and snacks were a huge plus, and the shower was amazing.
Amazing hotel in a stunning location. The views over the golf course, lake Lucerne and the mountains are epic. The room was as shown in the pictures and was a wow moment when we walked in. Staff all friendly and good food in the restaurant. Although not advertised clearly on the website their is a secure underground garage for parking and free chargers which is a massive bonus.
The hotel is just 15min walk from the train station. They gave us lucerne pass for free, with which you can get free rides in public transports and discounts at other tourist attraction ( We already had Swiss Pass, so couldnt utilise it)
The buffet breakfast was very good. The room was spacious and clean.
The tap water is drinkable. The staff was very friendly.
The hotel is located to the left as you leave the Lucerne train station. With 2 big luggages we manage to wheel them to the hotel 500m away. Doable for 2 young women. The hotel lounge and room were colourful and eclectic. The staffs were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was basic but one of the best we had when we were in Switzerland.
Hotel is near to the railway station from where you can travel to lucerne Station.
Also the hotel is near to Morges supermarket.
Hotel staff was friendly also they provided a city card which can be used to access local train and a free WiFi from lucerne.com which was accessible within Lucerne.
Nothing. The hotel was overbooked and so we were offered a room at another hotel. We accepted as it was an upgrade to 4*.
If you are offered the same, then decline. The Grand European hotel in Lucerne is anything but grand. Dated, tired decor, overpriced food and drink. Parking was €25.
Location - just 10mins bus ride from Lucerne train stn. Though bit old hotel, room is clean. The shared toilet is cleaned regularly.
Breakfast is not bad and provides free coffee all day :) Hosts are friendly. Overall, good and recommended hotel for a short stay in Lucerne.
We were super impressed by this hotel. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. Hotel had a trendy vibe. Breakfast was amazing. Really nice room and awesome shower. Easy 5 min walk to the train station and boat. Would absolutely stay here again when in Lucerne.
The Hotel des Balances has a great location in the downtown area of Lucerne. The river is on one side with top views of both water and surrounding mountains. The building itself is worthy of frequent tourist pictures due to the Swiss external art work and architecture.
Beautiful boutique property set above the city of Lucerne. The hotel has a very modern vibe. Beautifully decorated and very clean. It has a vernacular to take you down the mountain to street level which was very cool!!
The hotel is very conveniently located for public transportation into Lucerne and to other towns near the mountain resorts. It offers views of the lake. The owner was extremely helpful and made me feel very welcome.
Incredible view! Drinking coffee in the morning and wine in the evening from the balcony while overlooking Lake Lucerne was relaxing and romantic. The hotel is very clean and the staff friendly
The hotel was at a great location that was close to the train station. The free Lucerne train and bus pass that I received upon check in was so helpful during my stay in Lucerne
The most amazing views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps from this hotel. A bit far from the city but a shuttle bus takes you and picks you up every 15 minutes.
