I’ve watched Byron change over the last thirty years and am pleased to see that it still retains remnants of its surfing/hippie culture (not enough for me but some nonetheless) I’m not a fan of the glossy influencer elements that have commercialised the town and made it inaccessible to some people BUT the natural beauty and sacredness of the location will always have my heart 🌈💕🌊 Best coffee ever!

It was our first time to Byron.

It was our first time to Byron. We loved the friendly welcoming nature of the locals, the diversity of the travellers and the cleanliness of the town. The restaurants and pubs had something for everyone, ample shopping options and great cafes. the beach was always pristine and clean. Beyond Byron we explored Lismore, Bangalow, Teven and Nimbin and loved everywhere we went, with equally welcoming locals.

Great Restaurants, shops and wine bars with amazing food.

Great Restaurants, shops and wine bars with amazing food. We ate at Bang Bang, modern Asian the first night beautiful setting, the best red duck curry we have ever had and fantastic service. There are a lot of Mexican, Asian and Japanese restaurants but something to suit everyone. We ate at Three Blue Ducks which was dissapointing and expensive. We took a hot air baloon flight over Byron Bay, everyone should do this it was perfect. Near by places to visit are Bangalow a charming village with an amzing bakery and great shops, only 15 min drive away.

Only stayed two nights, perhaps enough for elderly couple.

Only stayed two nights, perhaps enough for elderly couple. Good local shops, had reasonable meal at the Services Club. Nearly Xmas so very busy in town and on the beaches. Hard to park car , but walking around local shops easy. Glen Villa Caravan Park good location, and easy walk into town, albeit a bit expensive for our cabin.

Loved the location. It was so central to everything and right near Byron Bay’s ”downtown”area and beaches. I still drove downtown in the morning for an appt. but could have easily walked. The amenities are nice, accurate to the pictures. It was perfect for my one night stay, but I would have loved to stay longer. Everything was very clean, the receptionist was very helpful and accommodating. Hotel like quality. It an apartment all to yourself, highly recommend!

Byron Bay is beautiful. Lovely beaches, great shopping and dining options. This house is fantastic . We had a wonderful family holiday. We particularly loved the fabulous entertainment area, so spent most of our vacation in or near the pool. Nights were pleasant, with air conditioning in all the bedrooms. We didn’t want for anything. Great cooking facilities, towels and linen provided . We didn’t want to go home!

Very good Motel. Close to the beach and walking distance to Byron Bay shops. Our room was larger than expected and very clean. There was a microwave, sufficient crockery, cutlery etc so that we could have a few meals in, without having to go out. It also was surprisingly quiet, even though on main road. We were a little late checking in, however reception staff ensured that we had access to our key - thank you 😃.

Great location, clean and tidy house, 11 mins walk to town, 5 mins walk to beach. The kitchen has everything you can think of in it and more. Just far enough out from Byron that it's quiet, but close enough to walk or bike (flat terrain). Loved the separate areas for sleeping and dining/living, was perfect for our 11, 13 & 15 y/o, but this might not be such a great layout if you have very young kids.

The location of the hotel was amazing and beautiful. There was a lovely sea breeze from the ocean, and it was a quiet pleasant location. A quick walk into town which was easy. The staff were lovely, and the room was amazing, very comfortable and spacious and the fittings and colour were gorgeous. The free mini breakfast was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend for a stay in Byron Bay.

The Surf House is a fantastic hostel right in the heart of Byron Bay. There's something on every day, and the bar is fantastic with great outdoor seating. Rooms were clean, and although quite small, were able to fit all six of us comfortably. Staff are lovely and were able to answer our questions about the hostel.
