This home is spacious and has a wonderful charm to it. We liked having coffee or a little cocktail on the front porch. Playing board games and reading books were great. The rooms were nice and everyone slept comfortably. It’s close to Main Street in Julian which is a four min walk. Convenient.

The bed was super comfortable. Although it was cold and rainy outside, our room was nice and cozy. The showers had great water pressure and temperature. There was plenty of towels. The amenities were a nice touch. The hosts were lovely people and very kind and welcoming.

It would be good for them to mention that their first floor rooms require climbing 9 steps. My 90 year old mom uses a cane and isn’t too steady and my husband has a broken leg and is on crutches. It was difficult for them to get to our rooms and I had to carry up all the luggage because luggage on wheels doesn’t work on the stairs

The location was fine, on a crescent off the main road into Julian. Beautiful big trees and natural surroundings. Room #1 had a nice terrace, which would be nice for a stay of at least two nights because having lunch or dinner there would be lovely. The bed was ultrasoft with lots of pillows to prop oneself up for reading. The bottled water was nice; the air in Julian can be dry as it was the days we were there.
Access by code was easy and realistic.

We stay in Julian twice per year..once for my wife's birthday and the other for our anniversary. It's our favorite destination when we need to get away from home for a few days. Wonderful town to visit with lots of friendly people.

Julian is a easy drive from San Diego.
Julian is a easy drive from San Diego. It is a nice, clean little mountain town. It has many shops with unique goods that you don't see many places. The one serious drawback is that there is only one go to sit-down restaurant. It is Italian. One major drawback is they do not accept reservations. However they do have a system using a Qcode in which you can be notified when your table will be ready in a specified time frame. Our wait was only about 1/2 hr notice of when our table for 6 was ready. Just don't sit by the front door. The cold wind is not pleasant each time the door opened. The door does not close by itself and most people didn't close it after entering.

Julian is a super cute town.
Julian is a super cute town. There's a lot to do there in town. There are some great options that are no more than 3 miles away from the actual town of Julian and these establishments have co-opted the Julian town name for their locations. In the fall (September) they have an Apple Days Festival which is probably the highlight for the town. It's very crowded and lots of family friendly activities going on. The apple pie is amazing.

Julian is a sweet little town packed with history.
Julian is a sweet little town packed with history. We had spent the day in Borego Springs looking at the desert sculptures (worth the trip) and enjoyed the mountain pass drive into Julian. Do the mine tour--the guide was wonderful and the tour interesting. Wonderful dining, especially the Italian place near the Robinson Hotel--another good find.

I love my yearly trip to Julian!
I love my yearly trip to Julian! It’s a wonderful place with small town vibes. It’s adorably quaint and the people are always friendly. The food is great and the apples and pies are definitely the star of the show. The scenic drive is great and there are plenty of cute places to stop off and enjoy. My favorite store to pick up great gifts is The Warm hearth, followed by a nice lunch at Julian cafe. I always end my trip with a nice slice of pie at either Moms pie shop or Julian apple pie company. I always look forward to my trip to Julian and can’t wait to return.
We have been faithful customers of Booking.com, for many years. This year we had at least 10 reservations with them in november for our yearly californian thanksgiving trip. Unfortunately we were bounced off for one reservation by the hotel, in Yucca Valley, without legitimate reason, and left one night out in the cold.
Booking.com has totally disregarded our complaint and proclaimed their irresponsibility. Consequently we shall no longer share our experiences at other facilities, as we gladly did in the past.
We enjoyed breakfast every morning. The staff was friendly and did their best to provide a nice start to the day. We liked the fresh fruit, yogurt, "overnight oatmeal" and baked goods. Coffees and tea were great and available anytime of the day (or night probably) that you might want to enjoy. Breakfast area had many books to look at; the views
over the lake and mountain area were lovely. Lots of good hiking and walking areas so close by, plus the town of Julian is just a short and scenic drive away.
I saw this hotel passing by Cuyamaca Lake often and typically I would stay in Julian. Exteriorly, the building looks somewhat worn, red rustic. Interiorly it is very clean and decorated as if you are in a Tibetan monastery. The meditation room reminds me of going into a Buddhist temple with many statues of Buddha. No incense. It is a multi-purpose room, for meditation, and slow/quiet work out. Or even prayer. I practiced Tai Chi there with plenty of space to move.
Nice remodeled room and we like parking our car close to our room. Very clean and comfortable. The a/c unit wasn’t turned on when we got there, but once it was on, cooled the room off quickly. We will most definitely come back to this hotel again! Loved that restaurants are right next door as well as a bakery across the street!
Amazing home turned hotel in the beautiful forest surrounding Julian California.
The staff was super helpful and the room was large and clean and super comfortable.
Free coffee and the VIEWS!
Stars and coffee...great combo!
Loved everything. Access to so many different places- Julian, Borrego, Ocotillo. Reni is attentive and helpful and she thinks of everything. We felt at home. Reni is so kind and wonderful to talk with.
it was more pleasant than I expected, staff is amazingly; friendly, helpful and relaxed, hotel and nature views are breathtaking,, saw many birds; ducks, herons, hummingbirds, deer, turkeys a real treat;)
Lodge was beautiful! The beds and decor were so comfortable and made us feel at home. The location was so peaceful and quiet. The lodge was just a short drive to main street of Julian.
Very comfy and hometown feeling. Fit the aesthetic of Julian and loved staying in town close to all the shops and restaurants! The lodge was quiet and the staff was extraordinary!
Location was beautiful, our room looked out over the lake. Room was large, felt like a studio apartment! We liked the uniqueness of the hotel and felt like were 'off the grid'
Clean, quiet and a few miles outside of Julian. I like the feel of rustic Inn accommodations, rather than a hotel/motel room.
Bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful and nice.
The hotel is perfectly located as once you have parked you can walk everywhere. The bedroom and bathroom were quite dated but somehow in keeping with Julian itself.
