I liked that the property had a restaurant on site, which is why we booked it. However they closed the restaurant for the duration of our stay and only told us about this when we arrived. This hotel is remote and they should have given us notice that the restaurant would be closed so that we could have made other arrangements. We tried ordering food to be delivered but they couldn’t find us as the front desk closed at night. There’s a nearby grocery store but it provides only the absolute basics. Don’t stay here if you you’re looking for a relaxing jungle retreat with a restaurant.
Amid the forests of the Blue Hole National Park, this property offers free Wi-Fi access, private parking and free bike rentals to sightsee the area. A tour desk is also available on site.

The property was stunning! The vegetation and the style of the rooms were so beautiful. Hiking and biking were fantastic!! The kayaking wasn’t much and luckily we are strong enough to move the kayaks into the water but not sure how some people would do it.

This was such a great stay! The hosts were so nice and accommodating. You can hear the sounds of the jungle in the property and the river is a walk away and fun to jump in. I worked remotely for two days from the bar area outside - Wi-Fi was very very reliable and decently quick too. I had no problem taking calls with videos.

Stayed for 6 nights total: 2 in San Ignacio, 1 at Rainforest Inn on Butterfly Highway, and 3 at the beach in Hopkins. The Rainforest was awesome and we did some cave exploring on tours. My husband and I enjoyed the cave tube float and our friends loved the ATM cave. Of course there are a number of Mayan ruins to explore without having to cross into Guatemala. Belize is a small country but from the Cays to Belmopan city and beach areas the culture is varied. The Garifuna culture around Hopkins is quite interesting and different from San Ignacio, which is more Mayan.

I specifically went to see the Thirsty Jagwar (yummy fruit wines) booth at the Day & Night Market at Mae Gordon Park in Belmopan. It was a rainy day and the grounds were a bit wet and muddy, but there was a good variety of friendly vendors, so it was fun to shop around. They also had a good DJ and live music so it was entertaining as well. There was also a good variety of food vendors to choose from.
The highlight of my visit was my stay at the Kiki Witz Resort. It was only 5 minutes drive outside Belmopan. Easy to find right off the highway just past the ArtBox store, but GPS was off. I had the cutest little Glamping Cabin in the woods! I will definetly come back, stay there and do little excursions out from there.

It's centrally located so you can get anywhere in the country. However, they need a better road system. You need to have a four wheel drive vehicle to be able to move around the country. For that reason it takes longer to get somewhere than it should.
Sleeping Giant is an incredible reserve on acres and acres of beautiful Belize jungle. The rooms were large and clean with big beds, great showers, coaches, and outdoor space including hammocks. Every room seemed to look out onto something wonderful from mountains to rivers to trees. The sound of water over rocks permeates the reserve and there are trails through orange groves and across hanging bridges. Bikes and kayaks are also available as are scening viewing decks including one 300 feet up that looks over the whole property.
Such a nice place to visit! It’s a sustainable Hotel with a high standard! The family who runs it, is so friendly and nice!
Best pancakes allover Belize and best spot to see red-eyed tree frog!
The property has its own jungle walk, a yoga room, a garden with flowers and hummingbirds, and a pond…
We stayed in a room with toilets outside and with a shared kitchen and dining. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. For the price one of the best places in Belize!
You’re in the jungle, don’t forget bug spray ;)
The location in the rainforest ist wonderful and we especially enjoyed the free bicycles and the hiking trails on the hotel grounds. It's a great place for bird watching! We stayed at a Creekside Cottage which was beautiful, especially the patio and the outdoor bathbub are great. A great plus is that you are provided with free drinking water. Special thanks to the waiting staff at Don Tonito's, they were so nice and we felt very welcome there!
The staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was perfect with sweet and savory breads, fruit, and beverages. We also enjoyed dinner at the resort each night. Serena was a great cook! Our family had a great time. We loved the pool, playing volleyball, and the playground area. The WiFi was the fastest connection we found in Belize. Close proximity to tubing and zipline adventures. Highly recommend.
The location is great, just a short drive outside of Belmopan. The cohune villa was a nice place to end a long day, super clean and had enough room for our party of 5. We didn’t get to use the pool or restaurant but I can confirm that they are on site. We were the only guests there during our stay which was a bit scary but overall a good experience.
The grounds of the resort are absolutely beautiful. The staff went over and beyond to ensure a relaxing stay in the rainforest. The restaurant on site has some of the best food in Belize. I highly recommend staying at Sleeping Giant for those looking to relax under the lush foliage of the rainforest and explore the beauty that Belize has to offer.
we booked 5 days in advance and were held up by rain after the first day and knew we were going to be late so we advised the hotel the morning after we booked. They flat out refused to give us any refund or discount and were just plain rude about it. Understand if we had cancelled the night before but not when you advise them 5 days before hand.
Great location right off Western highway and just a mile from belmopan. Also the only downside of the place- some of the cabins can hear the road traffic. But great value, nice pool, great service, clean rooms with ac, and delicious breakfast. 1 hr from the airport which is convenient
Fabulous setting with lovely grounds and landscaping. Diverse lodging options. Lots of recreational options at the hotel including bikes, kayaks, SUPs, and great hikes. Close to a fascinating cave.
The property was cute and was in a good location off the main hwy in Belmopan. The cabin was perfect for our last night, and the staff was so welcoming. Our dinner the chef made us was delicious!!
