Stunning hotel with amazing view over Kandy.
Beautifully appointed rooms, all with amazing views
Wonderful staff, extremely helpful
It's lovely seeing all the wildlife
Amazing food
To be honest, I couldn't really fault this hotel
The hotel manager was lovely
Could do with having a few rooms with grabrails in the toilets as I was disabled
And an odd shower with a grab rail
And non-slip floors would make this hotel absolutely perfect
Trying to find disabled rooms Asia is always extremely hard

A cultural eye-opener.
A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit.
The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit. I didn't interested to see the famous temple and another one important thing is in commuting hours the traffic jam was remarkable and every one should calculate staying in the traffic in their schedule .

Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie.
Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie. Ella, Sigriya, Dambulla and Polonaruwa. Gateway to mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Kandy is also a historical town with famous Temple of Tooth. This town is best served with affordable eateries and several modes of transportation. Cooler weather compared to the Sri Lankan capital city, Colombo.

An ancient hill capital, a religious city.
An ancient hill capital, a religious city. Has a lot to offer. Range of good restaurants, affordable.
beautiful scenery, friendly people, gem stores, shopping malls - overall a good city.
Sometimes heavy traffic.
One of the city in Sri Lanka that has Pick Me (local version of Uber) in use, avoids unnecessary negotiations with three wheelers and taxis
We loved our stay at Rivora residence. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and it was in a very peaceful location near the mirror where you had a view of the mountains. I think what made the stay extra special was the staff. They were all incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. We had lots of interesting conversations with Nalinda and the other staff members made us some take away breakfast when we had to check out early to catch our train to Ella.
It is a little further out of Kandy but it is an easy tuk tuk ride into town.
Amazing landscape was 100 times more than expectation!!
Cleanliness of the whole facility in the hotel was more than expectation!
Speediness of the service was perfect!
all staffs were very friendly, cooperative, professional!
Best room i stayed in my life!!!!
Food was most delicious in all hotels where i stayed in Sri Lanka.
Roof top restaurant was perfect location. I maybe took more than 100 pictures during my stay
Best location close to downtown (5 minutes by tuktuk).
Kids park is located 5 minutes by walk.
A little bit hard to find the place but after we got there we didn't want to go anywhere else. All the rooms have mountain views from balconies. Actually the hotel is on the mountain. Nice and cool , no need for aircon. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The beds are big and comfortable. The owner cooked delicious Sri Lanka dinners for us a lot of variety. Breakfast was combined western and local food with fruits.
A very pleasant and exceptional establishment. Highly recommend it to anyone who comes to Kandy.
That was the best place we stayed in during our trip in Sri Lanka. Hosts are extremly nice, helpful and hospitable. Breakfasts are simply delicious, they even prepared the breakfast boxes with our favorites pancakes when we were leaving early morning to Ella. Nice and quiet area, great view from the terrace above. Spacious and very clean rooms with small kitchen inside. We really enjoyed our stay at Remli Villa and we will definately be back if we are in Kandy in the future. Thank you guys! Wish you all the best :)
I’ve been to so many budget hotels and homestays all around south and Southeast Asia and countless places in Sri Lanka and this is the best bang for the buck homestay out of all. Amazingly kind and helpful hosts and staff, hygiene and cleanliness at is best with a common kitchen area with new clean utensils, provided with clean linen and toiletries with hot water. And the view is phenomenal. When ever I’m visiting Kandy I’m definitely coming here. Thank you Mountain View Homestay for your amazing service.
Rivora Heights is Exceptional. The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service. The hotel has the best room’s in Sri Lanka. The Restaurant Timber Cabin is the most authentic fine dining restaurant in Kandy. the food was delicious and presented in beautiful way. Also The Plunge Pool is the best and relaxing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Kandy.
If you are going to Kandy you have to stay here! The location is perfect for basing yourself in the centre with most places just a short walk away. The rooms are modern and very clean which had been sanitized before our stay. This is a family run hotel and the owner (I forgot her name so sorry) is probably one of the nicest people we met during our time in Sri Lanka, she was so helpful and friendly and just great to talk to in general!
Location is 10/10! Right on the Main Street lots of action. Balcony was great for people watching. Walking distance to everything in Kandy. Restaurants galore. Close to shopping mall. Staff is super friendly. Pool was great. Breakfast was really nice too, served in the restaurant below. Rooms are spacious decorated authentic. Very clean. Rooftop bar and food was such a nice addition !! One of our best stays in Sri Lanka. Enjoy Kandy!
Perfect welcoming with drinks and local snacks.
Very clean and spacious rooms with everything you need. Perfect location to explore Kandy and closer sightseeing areas in Sigiriya and Dambulla.
Staff is very helpful, they arrange whatever you need/ask including airport pick up.
Accepts credits cards (important in Sri Lanka).
Has very satisfying breakfast and offers lunch/dinner options since they have a restaurant in the property.
A large and quiet room away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. Just a quick 10 minute tuk tuk to the centre of town, which cost approx rs 500. The grounds and communal areas were gorgeous - surrounded by trees and lush foliage. We had a morning swim and it felt like paradise. The staff were more than willing to assist with drinks, luggage, tuk tuks and anything else we needed. Fully recommend. Thank you for having us!!
This hotel was perfect for our stay in Kandy. It's location is fantastic. It is a two minute walk to the Temple of the Tooth and town centre, but when we were in our room it was very quiet and peaceful, although we didn't have a view, but didn't need one. The staff were very polite and friendly. Our breakfast was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. I would so recommend this hotel if you are staying in Kandy.
The hotel is located very well - close to the lake but not on the road. The amenities were to the point. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The restaurant on top (Vito's Pizza) makes the best wood-fired pizza enjoyed by one and all from Kandy and also serves the complimentary English breakfast. The views from this restaurant are to be savoured.
Everything in Veraima is fabulous. This is our best stay at Sri Lanka. The owners hospitality is outstanding, information they gave you are precious. Good breakfast, great pool, great big rooms.
They will arrange a tuk-tuk driver if you need, for very good price. Choose Veraima for your next stay in Kandy and satisfaction is guaranteed.
The place is amazing, rooms are spacious and very beautifully decorated. The view on the mountains from the terrace is breathtaking.
Rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable.
Very friendly and professional staff. We had a tasty Sri Lankan breakfast. It is nice to have a walk to the down town observing the area around and the lake.....
The breakfast was always excellent, whether Sri Lankan or Western. Staff was always attentive and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Clearly they are dedicated to providing a high standard of service. The hotel has a charming location in the hills with beautiful views of Kandy. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Our room with lake view was very spacious, with a 'living room' area with TV and couch, and a kitchenette. The bathroom had a great shower with ample hot water. The staff were very attentive. An excellent location in Kandy as it is close to lake level: we could easily walk to the town centre.
We really enjoyed staying here! Very luxurious room with under bed lighting and a stunning bathroom. Also a nice balcony area. The breakfast was simple but delicious, definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts we had during our time in sri lanka. The hosts were kind and attentive.
Very nice and new hotel with one of the best views in Sri Lanka. We liked particularly the kindness of its staff, the infinity pool and the balcony in the room. The breakfast was also great and varied! I would definitely stay there again if I come to Kandy.
Lovely place to stay. There is no single thing to say all awesome. One of the top superb hotels in Kandy. I think this is a nice and cool for the price. I will visit again. Owner is a superb person helps me to got the town also. Perfect !
