Grocery store nearby is quite big, good to get snack and sourvenior from there. Sheng Nong Street is within walking distance, food choices nearby too.
The hotel staffs are friendly, to answer our query regarding train to travel back to Kaohsiung as we have three big luggages which might cause a problem when taking train during peak hours.
The male staff in the morning also helped us call the driver to arrange for bigger car to drive us to Kaohsiung Airport. As Tainan Uber Apps do not have choice to select for bigger car and we did not have Taiwan phone number to call for taxi. In the end the driver that he called was so great attitude too!

Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day.
Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day. Tainan is a lovely place to be with an excellent variety of history, cultural sites, temples, markets, and general fun things to do. Could definitely have stayed longer than 2 full days for a few extra day trips nearby, and to try more of the local things.

Traditional city that almost represents the development history of Taiwan city, including the building, religion and the famous street food. Actually Tainan keeps its unique culture of Taiwan city, then based on the culture attracting a big scale of Taiwan humanities and cultures.

Tainan is known for local delicacies, which we found to be true. The night market is not crowded and you can buy many delicious items without waiting in line. The Chimei Museum is nearby and we enjoyed visiting it.

Tainan was awesome. There is so much to see and do! The free cultural walking trip of the Confucius Temple and other parts of Tainan was amazing (Emma was my tour guide- she was extremely knowledgeable, her English was excellent, and she was so informative). Anping area had a ton of culture, a market, Temples, and amazing food to enjoy. I also enjoyed the Garden night market (different markets are open on different days). It was busy and crowded but there were so many great vendors selling clothes, jewelry, electronics, and more. The food selection was also impeccable. I was only in Tainan for a day and a half. I would have spent a few more if I had the time!

Tainan is an underrated, if not, underappreciated city that withholds treasures of different sorts for you, the traveler, to discover. The cheap, delectable street food is not to be missed, in addition to the hot sunny days, which could be a relief if you happen to be traveling from the miserably humid city of Taipei.
That said, Tainan is best explored on bike/scooter, as many attractions are spread out with quite some distance in between. Fortunately, Tainan's government offers electric YouBikes for rental, which could ease the pedaling by quite a bit.
Location is basically across the Tainan train station (regular trains, not high-speed!) and therefore quite central. Bus and bike rental stations are nearby, as are convenience stores (Family Mart, 7-Eleven). Room was nice, clean and decently sized. Bathroom had a Japanese toilet. Staff were very friendly. Smoking area in front of the entrance with ashtray. As the building is slightly recessed from the street, it's easy for Uber / Taxi to stop for pick-up. Great stay, would book again.
Great little hotel in the West Central part of Tainan. Location is near lots of good food and cafes. Walking distance to points of interest (e.g., Shennong St., Confucius temple, Tainan art museums). Facilities are well kept and clean. Room was nice and clean—beds were very comfortable and shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water (which is often iffy at smaller hotels in Taiwan). Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay again.
This was an excellent choice as a base for a few days sightseeing in Tainan old town. Very comfortable room, great breakfast buffet and lovely staff. The only inconvenience was that the hotel catering outlets were closed or not serving food on a weekday evening, so we had to go out in the pouring rain to find somewhere to eat. But this will not deter us from booking the Grand Banyan again when we go back to Tainan in a few weeks time.
Cambridge is the most traditionally hotel and advantage of hotel either they deserve reality

Great hotel a mere 10 min by foot from Tainan central train station. All the main sights of Tainan are within walking distance starting in a radius of 15 min on foot from the hotel. Staff is very helpful and professional. Rooms are on the large side with nice views of the city, and the bed and pillows are extra comfortable. The open air swimming pool is a very nice way to start the day. Good value for money too.
-location is perfect, there’s shuttle bus from Tainan HSR station to the hostel (Confucius Temple)
-there’s coffee machine and biscuit in common area
-I stayed 1 night in female dormitory room, the bedding, shower and toilet are very clean. There are facial and body care products for use, also hair dryer.
-interior deco is unique but also cozy, surrounded by plenty of books
This hotel is a true gem in the heart of Tainan. Amazing vibe of the place, rooms furnished with exceptional attention to the details in Japanese vibe, I loved it! My apartment was so beautiful that it was hard to go out sightseeing, enjoying every minute of my stay there. It's one of the best places that I've ever slept in and I truly recommend this hotel to everyone
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It looks very beautiful on the inside, with a lot of small touches everywhere. The room is spacious with a lovely balcony, and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is also beautifully done and overall it's a nice and modern hotel. We also enjoyed using the bicycles and did an evening out with the bicycles all over Tainan.
This has to be one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in a very long time, the bed and pillows were so good, the room and bathroom modern and comfortable, the breakfast lovely, the staff attentive, warm and really helpful- I won’t hesitate to stay here the next visit to Tainan.
Quirky charming older type hotel, in fabulous location. Very close to the 'slower older railway station', not HSR station. Excellent breakfast with many local food choices. Found the staff extremely helpful in reception. Room staff pleasant too. Recommended.
almost near the heart of Tainan city, with some delicious food around.
The living room is very comfortable, with a great kitchen. If you have some work to do there's a mac could be use. A very delicate hotel where you'll never get bored when stay here.
Got a nice and clean area to sleep and you could just spend 3 or more hours to use the B & B public facilities. BTW hotel staff service attitude is excellent which I will back there again if I travel to Tainan in future.
Very clean, organised beautiful hotel very close to downtown Tainan and also close to the Cheng Kung University campus. I have stayed here many times and have always had a very pleasant experience.
Room was quite spacious and had private wash room. Included toiletries, drinking water, washing machine (but no dryer). Good location that isn't far from Tainan Station and many bus stops.
The hotel is in front of Tainan train station which is about 200m away and directly in front of the hotel, there is a bus stop which is very convenient to travel around to the attractions.
10 mins walk from Metro Tainan. it’s a cute boutique hotel right smack in the middle of little eateries. I like the bathroom, which is an open concept, but it can be quite a squeeze.
Great clean hostel with friendly staff (She even helped me a bit with my very limited Mandarin skills). Centrally located in Tainan. Would stay here again.
