Sarajevo was very friendly and felt safe and comfortable.
Sarajevo was very friendly and felt safe and comfortable. There is a great cafe culture so you can sit with a coffee or beer and watch the world go by. It is culturally diverse and feels welcoming, all the more extraordinary considering the fairly recent history of war and the siege. There are walking tours which are worth going on- ours was great, with a local, knowledgeable guide. It’s worth going up on the cable car and having a wander around the mountain tracks- all well signposted.
We can’t wait to go back!

A really interesting city.
A really interesting city. The people are warm and friendly, ready to welcome and assist visitors. Many speak a variety of languages. English is commonly used, menus are often in English as well as Bosnian. The food is tasty and there are a variety of cuisines to choose.
The city is walkable, there are many tours available. We chose a free
Walking tour and the Fall of Yugoslavia tour. Both to our guides were very knowledgeable and passionate about their city. They were open to questions and enjoyed sharing their opinions.
The cable car allows the visitor to get a Birds Eye view of its size. The Old Town is great for traditional meals. Good coffee is available everywhere.
I liked the fact that East and West meet, it gives hope. It was an experience that will remain with me for a while.

Such an interesting city, with an even greater sense of East meets West than Istanbul. It's small, so easy to get around, and the river is helpful for orientation. Two must-see destinations that are often missed are the Jewish Museum and the Sarajevo Haggadah held in the National Museum. Would recommend a 'free' walking tour - we used Neno & Friends, and Merima was really excellent. But be prepared: still very much a cash-based economy, and BAMs not available outside Bosnia. Also, maybe it was just the season (early May), but restaurants are often fully booked - worth booking a day or two in advance. The 2-hour Talgo train down to Mostar is a great side trip for a day or two.

Great destination.
Great destination. Downtown offers you everything you want: very tasty food, interesting museums and touristic objectives to visit, sweets and aromas, nice streets, kind peoples... I felt like in an oriental city - then walking along the river was great too, as bridges and buildings being also modern and having a futuristic approach. Old and new, history and future in a great cohabitation.
I booked a room with an air conditioner since the weather was a bit hot. The room was really clean and had a nice smell. The bathroom was clean too. The owners of the apartment treated us nicely. They washed our clothes and returned them back quickly. Also, there are free parks for cars. They extended the time for checking out so I had enough time. Thank you Magnus Apartment for being kind with me. I recommend you to deal with them if you decide to visit Bosnia.
Very halpfull and nice staff, rooms and rest of the hotel are really clean. Great place with a lot of walking space around. Food is great, it's a bit expensive for Bosnian conditions, but it's worth that price. There is a lot of parking space escepcially during the night when people that came over-day leave. Rooms have a great size, and their look fits with mountain environment. We found two pieces of chocholate when we came, and for me it was a nice gesture
After viewing the villa's images on Booking, we booked it. When we arrived, it was more beautiful than the images, it was immaculately clean and had gorgeous views. If you're looking for accommodation near to Sarajevo, this villa would be the best choice. No shopping is required apart from your meals, the owner thought of all and every detail that make your experience remarkable. At last, much gratitude for making our time enjoyable.
VERY nice and modern building. Lobby was small but very nice and luxurious, especially for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Room was very clean and well-lit. Mini bar was a nice touch and had reasonable prices.
My favorite part of the room was actually the bathroom--so clean and modern with a LARGE shower and appropriate toiletries.
Bed was comfortable and I did not notice too much noise.
The employees are very kind. The hotel, apartments and service are the same as shown on the booking, which is great. The hotel is clean and tidy. Apartments and rooms in the hotel smell nice and are well maintained. Hotel security is guaranteed, there is an evacuation plan on every floor and also in every room. The food is very tasty and fresh. All recommendations!
Clean and pretty apartment, very friendly owners, great location. I've booked many apartments in Sarajevo over the years, but this was one of the most solid and pleasant experiences. If you want to stay in an authentic Bosnian house just around the corner of the old town for a really fair price, this is a great choice.
Nice hotel in historical building - the rooms are decorated in bosnian-ottoman furniture and have everything one needs for a nice stay. The location is fantastic and close to Baščaršija, the old town of Sarajevo. The hammam can be used during the stay. The breakfast is outstanding and very tasty!
It was a wonderful room, which was even bigger than the original room we booked, so the owner actually gave us a free upgrade. The room had everything we needed, and more. It is stylish and very centrally located. I'd recommend this accommodation to anyone.
Hotel is amazing and staff even better. They went beyond and read my mind based on booking, and saw number of people, then added extra bed sheets that I did not plan but did need. Truly awesome experience and great hotel. I loved the car garage too.
The host was helpful, communicative. He greeted us, showed were to park a car. Host also gave some recommendations about city visiting. The apartments' ameneties fulfilled our needs (we got everything, that was stated in booking website).
We were 3 nurses from croatia. We wanted to visit bosnia and booked that apart. The house is close to the center, had everything we needed and is a spacious house. The host is very helpful and kind person. I recommend you to stay here.
I don’t think I’ve met a nicer person in Bosnia than the host Aida. In addition, the place is very nice, roomy and feels upscale. Also, it’s 5-10 minutes away from the market and has good free parking arrangement.
Excellent location, clean and modern accommodation, good communication with staff. I highly recommend to book with Villa Basamak if you are searching for a calm and peaceful place.
Really enjoyed this hotel. All the staff were helpful. Parking is in the back. Rooms are clean and spacious. Location is good. I would book again when I come back to the city.
Hotel location and facilities so great. The Hotel Staff are very kind and helpful for every demand. Everyone should visit Bosnia and stay at Hotel Sana.
