We had a lovely big room at the end of a corridor, staff were very helpful, and they looked after our luggage before we were able to check in and for a couple of hours after we checked out. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A beautiful old hotel, I would recommend staying here.
The seagulls like to sit on the A/c unit outside your window and tap on the window, funniest thing😊

The staff were great. The location is one of the best for visiting the Inner Harbour. Reasonable price. We've stayed there often. The room we had this time was much smaller than all other visits so just a bit disappointed but it was still a nice room and as always very clean.

Beautiful city with many places within walking distance.
Beautiful city with many places within walking distance. Don't miss Butchart Gardesn, Fisherman's warf and the parliament building at night. we had two dogs so meals at fishermans warf were the best and most accomodating. Our stay was too short but it gave us enough ideas for a longer return trip.
totally worth it!

Would be helpful if there was a bus on Bellville st.
Would be helpful if there was a bus on Bellville st. As it’s a long walk for a handicap person to walk up to Douglas st.
Over all felling Victoria needs to do more to make the city more handicap accessible. Many businesses have stairs that are very restricted.

Victoria is a great city to visit for a walking visit.
Victoria is a great city to visit for a walking visit. Don't bother with a car - parking is expensive or non-existent. Skip the tourist shops on Government Street (except Murchies Teas). Beacon Hill Park is nice especially in spring or summer. The walk around the waterfront presents some interesting views. The Royal British Columbia Museum is a great place to learn about the history of western Canada. Overall, a nice, comfortable place to visit with slight British flavor.

I lived in Victoria for 20 years and have stayed at the Emptess numerous times before and since. I find your attitude and facilities impersonal and commonplace. No individuality or character.
Run of the mill. Even the Union Club is more comfortable.
The Empress had a certain atmosphere you have lost it. No different than any other American hotel. I would stay at the Magnolia for convenience or Dashwood Inn. The only difference between the the Emptess and Sandmans is price.
You do have excellent staff. All your recent “ improvements seem to be money oriented and an effort to be “ politically correct “

Victoria is a beautiful city.
Victoria is a beautiful city. We were able to experience most of it on foot and bicycle. People were so kind and we felt safe the whole time. We also used city transit which is very clean and safe. Very impressed with our overall visit and I hope I can get back to see more. On a side note, we were there in April and many things were closed on Mondays. And a lot of the city doesn't open until 10 am even on regular work days. One of our favorite things was Fishermans Wharf. The food and atmosphere were fantastic!

A nice place to spend a quiet weekend away from the hustle...
A nice place to spend a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver. Downtown is easy to navigate with a lot of options to dine - restaurants, cafes and bars. Don't miss Milano coffee shop. The coffee and breakfast items are amazing. There are a couple of gluten-free and dairy-free options too. You won't need a car if you plan to explore the city but may need one to get there from Vancouver as it's a solid 30 minutes drive from Swartz Bay. All types of cuisines available in downtown - Canadian, Indian, Asian, Italian, fine dining, fast food etc. One sad thing though is that there were people sleeping in front of stores during the night. They did not look like junkies and rather just unfortunate to be in that situation. It was safe to wander about in the night but would not suggest to stretch your luck late into the night.
This hostel was the cheapest option which I found for our last minute trip to Victoria. For such a price I didnt expect much, but have to say that for 1night it was ideal. Very close to downtown, walkable to beach and Beacon park. It is maybe 1-2min from the bus station from a ferry terminal. I didnt expect much from breakfast and the dinner but the pasta dinner was pretty cool and breakfast was nice too. The only negative thing was the hair on a bedlinen, other than that the room was clean and also the shared washroom.
Excellent cosy and comfortable hotel that felt more like a home and in a very pretty area, only a few blocks walking distance to downtown
Very reasonably priced for such a handy location
Large room was warm but also able to open windows. Loved the little touches like the coffee station in the foyer of a morning.
Friendly, helpful, funny staff.
Very clean & rooms smelt lovely.
We had a dinner and breakfast at the restaurants on the premises and both were exceptionally well priced & delicious
We were welcomed as if we were the most important guests ever to check in. Quiet location yet so close to downtown and the Mayfair Mall.
The young man at the desk ( Eric? - I am sorry not sure) was so polite and helpful. Your restaurant was closed for renovations ( not mentioned on your web site) and we had invited friends to join us for breakfast. Hie recommendation was superb. Without doubt, you are our go to hotel in Victoria
The room has been updated. Unlike a lot of hotels there are plenty of places to put your stuff unlike other places. There is a microwave, fridge and lavazza coffee maker. Perfect. The bed is very comfortable. The location is downtown and within walking distance of many places. The staff at the hotel are excellent t. They do go above and beyond and certainly have that personal touch.
The Rialto is our go to place in Victoria.
The location was perfect for exploring Victoria - easily walkable to the downtown area and ferry terminals. The room was clean and comfortable. The studio suite was well equipped and perfect for a lengthy stay. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The hotel had an exceptional pool area - really clean and with locker rooms. The game room, billiard room and laundry room were also clean and easy to use.
The Oswego Hotel was lovely to stay at! Me and my husband stayed in a studio suite for two nights and it was perfect! The location was so nice - it was only about a 10 minute walk to downtown Victoria. We found a beautiful walk just steps away from the Hotel, its called the David Foster Harbour Pathway. The bed was really comfy too! Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend :)
Lovely condo with terrace in excellent central location in downtown Victoria. A great home away from home when visiting in Victoria area. We could not have picked a better spot to stay in terms of being in the midst of things. So great to stop in as needed during the day of sightseeing for a quick change, rest, etc. Much better than a hotel room!
Loved our stay in a two bedroom suite with huge terrace and the best views of Victoria from the 16 floor. We travelled with 3 kids including twin infants and the hotel staff were very accommodating providing two cribs in the room. We really enjoyed the in room service from vista 18. All staff members were friendly and helpful.
The James Bay is an older building in an old neighborhood of victorian and craftmen style homes. There is a restaurant and a pub connected with the hotel.
Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for modern and all the conveniences look elsewhere. But I will happily stay here again.
The hotel is located in a very good location within walking distance from attractions like the Royal BC Museum, Beacon Hill Park, and the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. Also, the hotel is very near to downtown Victoria which has a number of good restaurants and cafes.
The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the city on foot. It is central to the waterfront and the pedestrian zone in downtown. The staff are very professional yet friendly. I wouldn't stay anywhere else for a visit to central Victoria.
The Embassy Inn is a well-managed property, everything is organized, clean and working. The free breakfast is a good way to start the day, and the property is within a short walking distance of all the main attractions in downtown Victoria.
The location was easy to find, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room and seating parlour were exceptional as well as the breakfast nook area. It was a perfect location for walking to all the best downtown attractions in Victoria.
Best birthday trip I ever spent. Very friendly staff and awesome rooms with great views of the city. It is a phenomenal location as well. This will be our go to hotel whenever we visit Victoria
It is a dated building but clean. The room is specious. Worth the money.
The reception lady is super nice to introduce what to see in Victoria and how to be there.
Feel welcome in this hotel.
