Company information

The current owners, Wild, Bru, and Lavers, took over the pub during the pandemic. A trio of business associates and friends, who wanted to make a difference to a much-loved pub (very famous in the folk music world) that desperately needed some TLC. It was a huge gamble to buy a pub during the pandemic, but we are surviving and hopefully on the way to thriving! We have made extensive improvements to the garden, building itself, kitchens, bar, and restaurant ever since. As well as the exceptional service and food you will find Wi-Fi throughout the building and in the garden. Our garden is BIG - so great for energetic children that need space to run around (away from the grown-ups) while Mum and Dad enjoy a relaxing drink. Our garden and bar are dog friendly, so if you're meeting people locally they can bring their furry friends - but they are not allowed in the B and B rooms.

Property information

Ours is 17th-century pub located in an Oxfordshire village steeped in history. We have 5 Bed and Breakfast rooms connected to the pub - but accessible through a separate door, with your own private courtyard. The pub itself is a listed building bursting with history and character, it even has its own resident ghosts. Come and visit us to enjoy a relaxing weekend, a decent pint, a glass of Prosecco, and either great quality bar food or something a bit more special from the 1777 restaurant menu. The Brasenose is the perfect place for a weekend away in the country or an overnight stay if you are visiting Oxford, Warwick, Stratford, Silverstone, or the Bicester Village Designer Outlet. We are located 5 minutes away from M40 junction 11. If you're coming from London there are regular direct trains from London Marylebone that take 1h 10 mins and it's only a 20-minute taxi ride to Cropredy from there. If you have mobility issues please do give us a call. We are a listed building so there are some steps and narrow doorways. Whilst we will make every effort to make everyone welcome we want to be sure nothing will hamper your enjoyment.

Neighbourhood information

Cropredy is famous for the Fairport Convention Festival that happens every summer (our rooms are not available during the festival). Folk music fans from around the globe descend on the village and The Brasenose Arms holds a fringe festival at the same time. The village itself is charming with another small pub, and several cafes. There is a small play park for the children and plenty of beautiful walks to enjoy. Cropredy itself also has a historic story to tell in the Battle of Cropredy Bridge - fought in 1644 during the First English Civil War. You can take a walk along the canal (5 minutes from the pub) and walk all the way to Banbury, a local market town, should you so wish. It's about a 2-hour walk and a 20-minute taxi ride back. Or just enjoy the sites and sounds of the canal in Cropredy, its boats, and its locks. If you love to shop, the famous retail outlet center, Bicester Village is only 20 minutes down the M40 towards Oxford on the M40, and Oxford City itself is approximately 30 minutes away with a good Park and Ride facility. We are only 30 minutes from the historic town of Warwick and Warwick Castle and Stratford-Apon-Avon is only an hour up the road. We are the perfect venue to explore the Warwick and Oxfordshire countryside.
