Trapp Family Lodge, hotel in Stowe

A Little of Austria.A Lot of Vermont! Situated on 2,500 acres in beautiful Stowe, Vermont, Trapp Family Lodge (yes…that von Trapp family) is a unique mountain resort featuring Austrian-inspired...

Thing to remember is this is a resort with a european feel, not just a hotel to lay your head down for the night. If you are looking for a just a clean bed and continental breakfast this may not be your cup of tea. The facility is big, yet has a coziness to it. We loved the multiple small gathering rooms and nooks spread about the building with shelves filed with books, board games and puzzles. The property is huge, plenty of places to wander but also lots of hosted happenings. Loved the beer hall...they do a maple themed beer every year and it is very good. Staff is exceptional. they all seem to love working there. Highly recommend as a get away place.

Tälta Lodge, a Bluebird by Lark, hotel in Stowe

Located in Stowe, 6.2 miles from Mount Mansfield, Tälta Lodge, a Bluebird by Lark has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a bar.

The staff were super cool and friendly. The location was about a half hour away from Burlington and about 10 min from downtown Stowe. Drinks from the bar were well crafted and there was a band second night there which I wasn’t expecting. The best part about Tälta is it’s different than a regular hotel stay where you just walk in the lobby and go straight to your room. It’s a place you feel like you wanna explore and get to know to know other people. I would definitely stay here again knowing what I know now and what’s offered. But it wasn’t everything I was expecting based off photos/ description.

    Stowe.... a skiers paradise.

Stowe.... a skiers paradise. Cute downtown area, awsome skiing. Nice apres ski options. My wife and I attempt to visit every winter. The town offers a good variety of eateries, resturants stores etc. One tip though... try to book a hotel that offers breakfast. I honestly could not offer a recommendation on a sit down resterant for breakfast. Just my opinion.

Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey.

Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey. Shops are very pricey but lots of homemade items and boutique type places. Food is really good at the restaurants. Everyone is really friendly. Will I be back probably not, but not because it was bad just very slow paced not for me. Definitely out of a hallmark movie though!

You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup...

You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup and hollandaise sauce at the Butler's Pantry. Alchemist brewery is a must stop and Von Trapp Brewery and lodge grounds deserve a visit. Great place in the winter, if you like winter sports. But with all the natural beauty, it is worth a visit any time a year. Fall foliage is awesome to see in this area.

    We love Stowe.

We love Stowe. We have been here many times starting over 50 years ago on our honeymoon!! The character of the town is just wonderful. This year they had a Halloween parade with the children of the town all dressed up!! It was charming! We will definitely be back!!

    Stowe is adorable.

Stowe is adorable. The reputation it has as a fall foliage destination is well deserved. The little downtown is adorable and very walkable, the traffic wasn't great but we were able to find parking relatively easily. If visiting from out of town, you're going to want a rental car since many of the attractions are spaced miles apart. There are a ton of great food-related things to try near by. We really enjoyed the sugar houses (we saw Bragg Farm and Goodrich's Maple Farm and recommend them both - about 40ish minutes out of town), Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot cheese shop, and Ben and Jerry's factory. We stopped at but didn't stay at the Trapp Family Lodge, which was well worth seeing. We did try the Trapp Kaffeehaus (which also serves their beer) which was great. If you like hard cider we also recommend Stowe Cider.

A quaint town set in the most picturesque location.

A quaint town set in the most picturesque location. The shops were attractive and there were plenty of places to eat. The nearby Von Trapp Family Lodge is well worth a visit. There is lots to do in the summer and the winter but we had not realised that most attractions and roads to mountain peaks would be closed from mid October until the ski season starts so we were caught in the middle of this time and had less open for our visit.

The rooms were comfortable and pretty big, overall clean with no bugs. The hotel has a cute nautical theme to match the name, and has cozy common areas if you're into that sort of thing. We really appreciated that they were one of the only budget/better value places in Stowe during the fall time. They did offer coffee and English muffins/toast with condiments in the morning which was a pleasant surprise. The lake out back is pretty and would be awesome during the summertime. They do have free parking with plenty of spaces.

Nice big and clean rooms with a mini fridge. Very nice indoor pool and hot tub. Quiet and welcoming hotel. Richard and Mandy at the front desk are very nice. Will stay there again for sure. Having 2 microwaves in the lobby with a full size fridge for customers with available tea and coffee is a bonus. And there is free shuttle bus at your door step to Stowe every 30 mins if you don't want the 15 mins drive.

A last minute bargain for our little last minute road trip from Boston to Stowe, Australians wanting to see the colours of fall and a visit to the Von Trapp Brewery. The location is beautiful, a perfect spot for hiking if we'd only had time. The lodge is perfect, we pretended we were apres ski people, great pool and spa, plus fire pits outside. A highlight of our trip to America.

Close to Stowe Mtn and Stowe Village. The sauna, indoor pool, and hot tub were nice amenities. They have a welcoming area with fireplace and complimentary tea and coffee in the morning. They also served beers here and offered snacks/ appetizers. The downstairs had another bar open evenings within a nice lounge complete with fireplace. The views out back were beautiful.

Nice little kitchen and good size room with kitchen table, dishes and other kitchen items. Bedroom section had a sofa and comfy chair. Everything was clean and bright. They even offered the free use of bikes and we were very close to the Stowe rec path. It was also quiet and there was a lovely pool. Good location for walking to stores.

Nice and comfortable stay with my teenager. The place is very the center so you can walk to the brewery, the mini golf, the restaurant, the ici cream and even the bike/walk path. The room is decent with share bathrooms. Everything was clean. The price is fair enough for what you get, even more for Stowe area.

Breakfast is poor for this hotel category. Room is very nice with comfortable beds. Reservation was for a room for three people. The room was prepared for two people. It took more than an hour and two complaints to receive the missing glass, cup, and towels. The third robe was not provided.
