We loved the location, just one street down from the main part of town, great spot to wander from.
Situated within an Art Deco heritage-listed building, YHA Blue Mountains Katoomba offers a range of rooms, a BBQ area, a games room and an impressive former ballroom with a cosy fireplace.

Perfect location near supermarket and the main street.
Very nice staff.
Good facilities (a lot of showers and toilets available). The common area is very warm and welcoming with music, a big kitchen, a soccer table and a pool.
The room was quite big with lockers and the beds were confortable

Direct train from Sydney. Very quaint traditional old mining town, old fashioned 'high street' with plenty of places to stay and eat. We stayed in the grand Carrington Hotel which has a lot of history as part of the evolution of the town. Our main reason for visiting was to easily access the Katoomba based hop-on/off bus to visit The Blue Mountains. This worked perfectly and as well as seeing Katoomba and the blue Mountains, we also got to visit the pretty neighbouring village of Leura which is included in the route. We felt we made a very good choice.

Katoomba has everything you will need or find in a regional town. The large supermarkets are available and open for longer hours for groceries (Aldi, Coles, Woolworths). The shops and restaurants close early, so check times and organise around that. There are limited number of restaurants and eateries in town. We ate at Rustico - this place is almost always full (even on weekdays) - best book ahead. We had one sunny day out of 3 days. Luckily that was enough to visit Scenic World, do the rides and walk around. We recommend taking the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus (hop-on hop-off) to minimise driving. There are many easy to medium walks along the clifftops.

The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent.
The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent. Just right level for me. It would be good if the shuttle buses went to Gordon Falls and Leura as I had to walk back along the roads a lot. Also access to the walk at Scenic World was closed, which was annoying as the walk is advertised to start there. It was Easter Sunday and very busy but this should have been made clear perhaps with signs at Katoomba Falls where the walk actually started from. I ate at 8 Things, great value and the RSL which was not so great. The Pool of Siloam is one of the best things in the mountains I discovered this weekend.

The town is lovely, great places to eat and drink, lots of attractions and view points, short drives to many other places. I really enjoyed it. One thing i would mention, as we were caught out with this, the whole town stops serving food at 8pm, so you do have to choose between watching the sunset and eating.

Too much wrong. Not even close to enough right.
Too much wrong. Not even close to enough right. Broken toilets, fans, lights, terrible seating, lack of outdoor furniture, cleanliness was atrocious, kitchen was filthy, bathrooms were filthy, parking was horrendous. No outdoor seating. Lack of care really by the responses of issues and never got the same person twice when contacting. Garden and outside area unkept, debris, boards with nails, garbage about. All and all....stay away!

Katoomba is a beautiful town with the obvious features of the Three Sisters but if you go for a day trip west towards Lithgow etc you can find quiet waterfalls and swimming holes all to yourself and more stunning views!
Staying at this hotel is like being wrapped in a cozy blanket of luxury, with views that could make even the most seasoned traveler pinch themselves just to check if it's real. The scenery outside the window is so stunning, it's like Mother Nature hired a personal decorator. And let's talk about the rooms - they're so lovely, I half expected them to tuck me in at night and read me a bedtime story. It's like sleeping in a cloud made of marshmallows and dreams.
Based on the photos of the property when I booked it, I was expecting the rooms at the hotel to be older. We were pleasantly surprised at how well maintained the room was. The beds were very comfortable, everything was in good condition, including the bathroom, which looked more modern than I thought it was going to be. Breakfast was simple, with a variety of breads and cereals, coffee, juice or tea. But at least it was good enough to get us up and running.
this cottage has a history. I liked the design and style.
continental breakfast was provided. As I arrived late, the reception was still open and welcomed very well. I stayed for a night and left in the morning. All facilities were provided. the hotel staff helped us to use the kitchen to have dinner for senior citizens. milk, biscuits, & sugar were provided. its a good value for money.
This is a grand old hotel. The common areas are very elegant. The room was quite spacious and well lit. View of the Blue Mountains was nice to wake up to. There is a small fridge and coffee facilities in the room. Location is excellent with dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance. Katoomba is close to the Three Sisters and Leura, a nice town to visit.
Very short walk from world-class sight-seeing: Three Sisters and Katoomba Falls. Very short driving distance and must see: Wentworth Falls and Valley of Waters Track (7 waterfalls on one trail). Best value in terms of price. Excellent room size, beds, and bathroom vanity. Bonus housekeeping clean everyday by professional housekeepers that do an amazing job.
Old fashioned type of hotel. Beautiful place to stay, so cozy and warm to enjoy Katoomba and the Blue mountains. The breakfast was light but it was everything you need to start the morning right.
For the travellers that are not fancy but enjoy a cozy and home styled place, this is your place to stay.
Definitely coming back!
Loved staying at this charming boutique hotel that was perfect for an overnight stay, literally 50 metres from the Katoomba train station. Great staff, communicative. The sheets and oversized pillows were starched-white and ultra fresh and clean, which is always very welcome. Ask for a room with a view.
Beautiful old early 20th century grand hotel in great position in central Katoomba. Gorgeous stained glass windows. Very comfortable beds. Wonderful decor and artwork. Tourist bus stop out the front. Generally extremely helpful staff.
Very cosy nice atmosphere hotel. Decor was classy and so pretty. Hot shower was working perfect. Staffs were very friendly. Location was perfect. It was very easy to go around Katoomba town and easy access to hiking tracks.
Everything. The staff were great, the rooms better than in several 5 star hotels I've stayed in. If you're going to Katoomba, stay here - as I will again in a few months time when the weather is better.
It was a comfortable and relaxing home with a lovely view of the bushland from the back verandah. The house was only a 5 min drive to Katoomba and to the 3 sisters for bushwalking and sightseeing.
Intentionally booked to be close to the Three Sisters for dusk and dawn and did not disappoint. A lovely hotel, generous and helpful staff. An easy bus connect from the main part of Katoomba.
The staff at the Katoomba Hotel were well above standard. They went out of their way to help us - genuine, caring customer service is a rare thing these days.
