Portland is a walkable city. Too many wonderful restaurants for one trip!
My favorites from this trip: Fore Street Restaurant, Honey Paw, and Jing Yan. My husband loved Bar Futo and the bar at Via Vecchia.

We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine.
We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine. We usually stop at the Kittery Trading Post along our drive. In Portland we like to take in historical homes and sites like the Victorian Mansion or the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow home. There are lots of restaurants and pubs in the waterfront area. One of our favorites is the Ri' Ra' where I typically enjoy a Guinness with the fish and chips.

My work in Portland shows me a diverse striving community that is trying to care for its citizens. That diversity is revealed through exploring the shops underneath and around the "Hopeful" sculpture/sign on Forest Ave.

Best seafood ever.
Best seafood ever. Very nice restaurants and bars and excellent, friendly service in all places. Nice little interior or similar shops. Some more or less interesting galleries, interesting Arts Museum. But two full days are enough for visiting downtown Portland.
Lovely hiking trails at about 30 minutes from the town.
The location was great - just a short walk to the center of Portland. Room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable. My room faced the back, so I didn't hear any traffic noise. As a light sleeper I consider this an important point. The staff was polite and helpful and suggested good places to eat.
There is no restaurant, but a few steps away is a good Mediterranean (Greek, Lebanese) place. The downtown area, full of restaurants and cafés, is within walking distance. I really recommend this hotel.
Historic downtown hotel. Very nice place to stay. Nothing about the room I didn't like. Very good breakfast although you have to take it back to your room as there is almost no seating. Adequate parking on site. Some good restaurants within walking distance, but you need a car or take the bus to get to the port area. We took the bus with no problem. People of Portland are very friendly.
We've stayed at this location twice now on our visits to Rockport. The best part is that we were able to walk from the hotel into the quaint, downtown area by the water. The rooms are good, the lobby is beautiful, and the breakfast is basic continental fare. Nice place, especially for the price, which tends to be less expensive than some surrounding properties.
Location, quiet neighborhood, walking distance to downtown Portland entertainment and restaurants. Clean, comfortable beds. Kitchen and bathroom stocked with necessities. Secure access at entrance to building and rental property. Frequent check ins from the Property Owner was appreciated.
The Portland Regency Hotel is the perfect place for a cozy getaway. It’s located close to restaurants and shops and it’s walkable from Maine College of Art. My daughter and I stay there from time to time to catch up and regroup before heading back to work and school!
The location of the hotel can’t be beat,It is the heart of the vibrant waterfront district and walkable to almost any area in the downtown. On-site parking at the hotel is convenient although there was no parking attendant. Self-parking, however, worked out fine.
The Hampton Inn in Downtown Portland was a great location to tour the port area, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The hotel now features a hot breakfast buffet that was especially good.
The hot breakfast was very good, substantial and had plenty of healthy options, which was appreciated. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The hotel was clean overall, and the room was great.
The Hyatt is a great location from which to explore the Old Port section of Portland. Clean and comfortable. Free breakfast is somewhat restricted because of COVID but still satisfactory. Good value.
This is a great location in Portland, and we were able to walk or bike from the hotel without issue. The neighbourhood was great, people were friendly and it felt very safe.
Location was excellent...just a short walk to waterfront, shops, and great restaurants. I recommend the audio self guided walking tour of historic portland.
