The room was fantastic and whimsical. All the staff from the bar, spa, check in and restaurants were so friendly and accommodating. The danishes and cake were very yummy ! Absolutely beautiful area. Very charming downtown with a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Beaches a short drive away. Highly recommend SLO Provisions for breakfast. El Esquina for a delicious meal. Farmers Market on Thursday nights give a wonderful sense of local products, foods and services. Very easy to walk around downtown. Morro Bay is an easy 20 min away. A beautiful drive. Morro Bay is a charming beach filled with local surfers, people walking their dogs or just hanging out to soak in the waves and surrounding beauty.

Close to downtown, shopping and restaurants to include the famous Madonna Inn. We were there to visit our student at CalPoly. Great amenities for our family. Always nice to have extra space in our room with the living room/dining area.

Very pleasant town with access to beautiful hikes. Easy to get around. I loved how unique all the different buildings and houses were. Food was only decent, but not terrible. Good breweries, too! Very walkable. The highlight was going to the hot spring resort for their hour-use tubs.

Beautiful place to visit.
Beautiful place to visit. University town with a lovely walkable downtown. Lots of restaurants. Many people biking. Close to Pismo and Avila Beach, Morro Bay (and Rock) and the gorgeous central coast.Always love coming to SLO but it can be very pricey. This was a quick family visit so didn’t eat out much. Always find time for a latte at Scout coffee. If you are on a budget, check out hotel prices in advance prior to choosing dates. Inexpensive places jump to over $200 per night during certain weekends.

We went for an early morning run up the convenient bike path into SLO. We had a great tour of the city on foot and visited the El Camino Real sites and the Mission. We ran back through the hills and had a great view of the surrounding areas. Worth returning to visit. High up on the historic trail.

Madonna inn is a quiet getaway conveniently located right off the highway in San Luis Obispo, prepare to be immersed with miles of beautiful rolling hills and pink kitschy decor. Enjoy a decidedly prepared meal In the famous Alex Madonna gold rush steakhouse. Or enjoy some hot cocoa at the copper cafe. Relax at the pool and enjoy the waterfall or Catch up in the Terrance pool bar! Book a spa package for that special someone! There’s something for everyone at this amazing hotel. We will continue to visit for years to come!
For what looks like a standard motel, this place has little touches that punch above its weight. Friendly staff, good breakfast including good coffee, cute outdoor seating areas (chairs on balcony outside breakfast room, Adirondack under a tree, might even be some by the creek), local newspapers.
We were able to walk Downtown (maybe 15-20 minutes), though there are also some nice restaurants just down the block.
One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Flat out very well done. From the moment you arrive in the car, easy to find park up with great staff. Big rooms with modern feel, amazing roof pool and bar with 100% best location centrally. Highly recommend you stay its a proper hotel. + check out the sushi place in the market one of the best... + the local craft beer bar is amazing... just 5 mins walk away.
Cleanliness and friendly staff.
Nice welcome by Cassandra, clearly informing us about the hotel rules and welcoming us with a nice glass of local rose wine.
After we checked out, One person in our family left the computer cables and phone cables at the hotel, and they kindly called us after we checked out to arrange the best way to ship our stuff.
The bistro is cute, with a nice bar.
I like how the staff is accommodating and friendly. The staff takes the time to fold towels in a unique way to hold hygiene products. There is a location towards the back where you are able to enjoy the creek and some of nature. At night it's beautiful seeing the stars a little peaceful. The location is close to downtown San Luis Obispo as well as local amenities.
We booked Quality Suites right after we drove through Cal Poly SLO for daughter to see... was pleasantly surprised by large rooms that were surprisingly quiet despite the property being fairly busy. Pretty outdoor courtyard areas. Enjoyed complimentary reception near pool area in evening and hot takeaway breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay again.
I often visit San Luis Obispo for my sibling, This is my fifth time staying here. Staff is always kind and feel welcome, very clean. Another thing I like about Motel 6 is pet friendly and stay free. This location has multiple grass area in property, close to the large dog park and hiking trails. Highly recommended and I'll be back soon!
I like the central location of this hotel. It is located a few miles away from downtown San Luis Obispo, the area's wine country, and nearby cities like Pismo Beach and Avila Beach. The hotel is located near stores, supermarkets, and gas stations. The surrounding area looks safe. The staff is courteous and helpful.
The breakfast was great. It was fully stocked when we came down.
The staff was so nice, helpful, and answered all my questions.
The beds were very comfortable, and the towels were the softest I've ever felt!!
I was concerned about barking dogs near us and the staff tried their best to keep us away from any dogs!
Modern, clean and spacious hotel and in an excellent location. Good bar, outdoor eating and pool facilities. Also a good roof bar with bocce (boules). Live music on Saturday night in the outside eating area - excellent. Didn't try breakfast as chose a nearby coffee place instead.
It was a very quaint hotel located northern part of San Luis Obispo. Rooms were very clean and cozy. I will be returning here absolutely when I stay in San Luis Obispo. The price was excellent. I will tell family and friends about this jewel.
Owner incredibly helpful.
The location wasn’t too far from downtown area. So, that’s nice. We did an overnight leisure biking trip though, so it wasn’t the best from the train station since the last 0.4 miles is a slight incline.
Place is clean. Pool and jacuzzi were good.
Among hotels in this range, this one is pretty good. 60's or 70s construction, 2 story, exterior corridor, rooms renovated pretty recently, nothing fancy. Pretty clean, tile floors in the room (better than rugs IMHO).
The Garden Street Inn is a gorgeous quaint property with lovely staff, very comfortable, very clean and quiet in San Luis Obispo. Would definitely recommend, so different from staying in a chain hotel. Beautiful.
The hotel was quite nice from the lobby, to the grounds to the room. Clean, stylish, comfortable. It was a good value compared to the other hotels we could have chosen. Complimentary breakfast was a plus too
The staff was very friendly and nice. The room overall was a nice and pleasant stay, the water was very warm. The hotel was also located very closely to downtown San Luis Obispo restaurants and all!
Something a little different on our West Coast road trip. A quirky, individual hotel that has to be experienced to be understood. Food, service, pool all excellent
