Lovely town for those who wish to discover London’s suburban arias. Great for kids and families. Cathedral with the relics of the first English saint, museum to learn about Romans, the oldest bun in UK…and much more..

St Albans is a very friendly town with people opening doors and being kind and considerate. We ate in whetherspoons in their Tudor barns and they also had an outdoor area to eat and drink if no rain! The pricing of everything we ate and drank was of good value and was very clean. There was lots of places we wanted to visit but most of our holiday it rained! But we did visit the shops which are all different and have different price ranges and styles.

I was there for work so didn't really have a chance to look around the place. I managed a visit to the cathedral which is a marvellous hulk of a mediaeval building and still an active place of worship. Wel worth a visit.

A classic english town with traditional houses, historical places and a small but well-cared city centre. St.Albans has a wonderful gothic cathedral, the calm and nature of the wide city park and the oldest pub in the UK is there. Services and shops make the city a nice place to live and to visit.

WiFi was not good - although I connected i couldn't actually get to any site. It is a bit of a crazy hotel in terms of where the rooms are - a bit higgledy piggledy - I was in a room that was a complete adventure to fine. However, I do recognise that with something so old this would be the case. The staff are great. Just check with the hotel where your room is located. I would still massively recommend this hotel, but not one to go to if you have any challenges with stairs etc.

Beautiful historic property backing onto the lake in Varalamium Park. Great location for walks into the lovely town center, around the lake and to the cathedral and Roman Museum. Lovely atrium-style Breakfast Room, with buffet items plus selection from hot menu, along with coffee and tea served to your table. Excellent breakfast! Staff very friendly and professional. Nice views of the lake. Lovely Lounge area with fireplace, as well as a cozy bar with friendly service.

Beautiful hotel and surrounds. The decor and finish of the hotel was beautiful and individual to each room. The bar and seating area was plentiful for a quick drink before heading out. Parking was great with plenty of space. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location in St Albans with an array of shops, restaurants and bars in walking distance.

Really good value. Within walking distance (10/15 mins) of town. Room was upgraded from single to double and was clean and well appointed. Nice, powerful shower. Slightly odd layout (three separate residences make up the hotel) but that was ok and had nice garden areas. Bar a little dated/tired but beer was good. Man on reception very nice and helpful. All in all good value for money

Beautiful property, clean, well presented and welcoming. Located in the lovely town of Saint Albans which is only a few miles down the road from the Harry Potter Studios Tour. Perfect place for anyone who is visiting London/surround area. Viv was an amazing host, and we hope to stay there again when my wife and I visit the HP Studios in the future.

Don't be deceived by the rather tatty apearance of the front door and hallways, the appartment itself is very good, very comfortable and right in the heart of St Albans city centre. It's close to all the best restaurants and bars and is a short walk from the Abbey and park. A very comfortable bed. Highly recomended if your on your own or a couple.

The hotel is situated perfectly in the city centre, where you're close enough to walk to anything you'll likely to want to see yet far enough from the noise and stress of the shopping area. The room is designed beautifully and very spacious. Excellent facilities and friendly staff.

The location and parking facilities are very good. No problem parking, there's a screen inside reception to enter your registration details then you can forget about the car. In the morning you step out the front door and you have the city centre on your doorstep.
