We stayed here a year and a half ago just as the new owners were taking over and the place has been transformed. Lovely clean room with a complementary bottle of wine which was a lovely extra. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant which was very tasty and really good value for money and it had a lovely atmosphere with a cosy wood burning fire. We opted for a rate with breakfast which again was fantastic with great quality ingredients and my daughter loved the hot chocolate. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back.

Have stayed at this site many times and have found egress from the site can be risky. We leave the site by turning left, do a U turn at next junction on right, then join traffic with good site in wing mirror.
We eat at several different outlets. Trelawney Garden Centre near Wadebridge recommended as is Trago Mills.

It is a central location which makes it a good base to explore from. We didn't actually visit the town but drove to the Eden Project, Tintagel, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Polperro, St Austell etc. The local roads are narrow and winding, it takes ages to get anywhere, and you have to reverse a lot back to passing places on single track roads! We are vegetarian and found it easy to find really good places to eat. I recommend visiting Olive and Co at Sibleyback lake.

The clothes drying outside was not the best as the sun wasn’t on the wash line much
However there was a washer dryer (which I don’t like) should you need to get something dry
We visited Newquay, Perranporth and Looe, the latter being our favourite as it was nearest and had crab fishing as well as the beach

The hotel is 5 miles from Liskeard, which we did not visit other than to drive through! There is at least one petrol station which we did use.
However there are plenty of places of interest within a short drive. We ate at Wheal Tor and several of the local inns.

The town itself is quite a depressed area and so not particularly touristy, but it is easy travelling distance from some amazing countryside and this makes a good stopover to/from places further west.
Fantastic view from the bedroom, you can see right across the moor to the Tamar valley. Sheep graze right outside the window. Very quiet location. Lovely walks in the surrounding area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great food in the pub next door; a varied menu and generous portions. Very nice beer too. Accommodation was spotless. Great walk-in shower. There's a Spar type shop down the road in Pensilva village in case you need anything, and Liskeard is only a ten minute drive away. Would we come here again? Definitely!
Booked this as it was only 3 miles from where I was to do some work. The room was spotless, plenty of tea and coffee and a bottle of water, a real mug and a real glass for the water! Plenty of toiletries. Lovely breakfast cooked to order. Sadly the bar and kitchen are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but I was may aware of this at the time of booking and they supplied me with information on local restaurants and take aways. Great parking.
Thankyou for a fabulous week’s stay in Fowey Cottage.
The cottage and surrounding area are stunning and offered everything we could have asked for.
The scrumptious homemade scones on arrival were a lovely touch and much appreciated.
Gemma and Andy were perfect host, very polite and friendly and always on hand if needed.
We have so much more of Cornwall to explore and will definitely use Lower Trengale cottage as our base again.
The living room and kitchen was incredible. Huge and spacious, new combining beautiful design but keeping the history. The bathroom is new and spacious as well. The view from the terrace is lovely to the green hills. Great to have breakfast or dinner at. The area is green and natural with very few buildings nearby. We loved our stay. I think the properly looks and feel much better than the pictures.
Cottage was quaint, clean and had everything you required. Attention to detail by the hosts brilliant. Literally in the middle of no where - where you can truly relax and enjoy the countryside.
Games room available with pool table & table tennis great for entertainment in the evening - distracting the kids away from devices.
Loved the Forrest area to walk the dog and enjoy fire pit one evening.
The first thing that strikes you is the welcome you receive from the hosts. We had room 8, perfect to accommodate our dog too. The location feels really remote but is only a few miles from Liskeard. Fabulous views (despite the weather!). We booked a table for an evening meal which was delicious as was the breakfast the following morning. A fabulous hotel and we can’t wait to stay again.
This was an excellent accommodation for us ( 2 families with 4 adults and 4 children in total). It was like a home away from home :) We used this as a base o explore different parts of Cornwall. Ashley, the host was very helpful with directions and other information about the house and local amenities. Overall, a great experience ! Thanks,
Good place too get around Cornwall , bus and train station nearby if you don’t want to drive everywhere and find a parking space this is the place, great breakfast and nice couple running it, rooms are clean and comfortable 👍
excellent service and hosts were so lovely. the setting was on a beautiful farm for lovely walking and easy to access other parts of Cornwall. the rooms were very comfortable and we had a wonderful experience.
A beautifully presented and maintained property kept to a very high standard set in a peaceful rural location, yet very accessible to so many places in east Cornwall and west Devon.
The hotel and pub were very clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The collection of clocks was a talking point. The breakfast was lovely. We will definitely return.
The property was ideal for us. It was comfy and an excellent place for us to explore Cornwall. The bed was so comfy I could have taken it home with me!
