It was an unforgettable experience walking through nature, seeing the rivers and waterfalls. The variety of birds, the tranquility of being surrounded by so many sounds, breathtaking sunsets. I truly enjoyed the whole experience and place. Will do it again, highly recommended.

Lovely place to see birds, swim in some waterfalls, have some good coffee and chocolate on farms, get some craft beer. Very hot though— stay hydrated and pack sunscreen. I would recommend this place and advise hiking around to enjoy the nature.

Loved Minca so much.
Loved Minca so much. The town feels very catered to tourists and it was hard to find a cheap, local restaurant with a menu del dia for example but there are lots of good western-ish options and the wildlife/surrounding area is so beautiful. Highly recommend the Cerro Kennedy hike (stay at El Ramo) too.

Minca is a fantastic place to visit to get a sense of the mountainous area of Colombia and its lush and alluring jungle with all the glory of its flora and fauna. Only a short drive from the Santa Marta airport, you find ourself in a little village that is a haven to hikers, motocross bikers, and bird watchers. There are many places to eat with a variety of cuisines and for the most part the food was good. Our favorite activity was birdwatching. We had fantastic outings booked through Jungle Joe. Our guides Tony Martin and Gustavo Viloria were both extremely professional and informed. We loved the La Vittoria Coffee Plantation tucked away in the jungle. Another favorite was Rio Elemento, a hotel/restaurant on the banks of the river with an awesome swing that carries you over the rushing waters.

It is very pretty and I appreciated the access to other types of food since we had been traveling the Colombia for a bit and had been exclusively eating traditional colombian food. You cannot speak about Minca without mentioning the bugs, they are terrible! the worse part is you don’t really see them or know when you are being bit. You just look down and your legs are covered in bites. Also there is a new age spirituality vibe that is strongly felt in the town.

It’s not a party town but it’s beautiful, scenic, has lovely waterfalls! Nice place to wind down after long hikes. Either take mototaxis everywhere is you don’t want to walk or hike! Ask for a helmet!
This was the best experience we had in Colombia. So quiete, cosy! Relaxing on the pool is amazing! Great views! The staff is super friendly. The breakfast and the dinner were amazing, very tasty! During the day we had some walks to visit some Cacao farm. I can't recommend it enough! I would for sure stay there again. We like walking, so we loved to walk up to the hotel from Minca, but it might be challenging for people in bad shape and you might need to use motorcycle service
Sol de Minca is a beautiful eco lodge with wonderful opportunities to birdwatch and possibly see other animals (although we didn’t’). The family have 3 lovely dogs and the views are spectacular. Special mention to the lovely receptionist who spoke amazing English and was incredibly helpful to me and my partner! She even arranged to send my Kindle to me at an onward address in Colombia after I forgot it at the property!! The food is also amazing at this place.
Doña Ana is so kind, helpful, and generous. She is also really nice to talk to and cares so much about the people who stay with her. She helped us communicate with the taxi driver that brought us to Minca, as well as arranging a taxi for when we left. The location is great, about a 12 minute walk away from the center of the town (take the marked shortcut on the road). Rustic but comfy and we had a lovely time.
It was my favorite activity of my 3 weeks travel in Colombia! I loved my stay there! It was like a fairy tail, relaxing into this jungle, with all of the nature, the diversity of the plants around us, waking up in the morning by the birds, walking through the river to go out. It was a paradise! Of course the hosts were so hospital and incredible! This experience will always stay in my memory!
We stayed in the tree house and it was absolutely spectacular. A gorgeous retreat to come and relax at - they offer free yoga classes and have delicious healthy food and a beautiful river where you can cool down. It’s a few minutes by motorcycle to Minca town and a great overall place to unwind and enjoy nature
This is our favourite place we have stayed in Colombia so far. Location is right near the town our views from our balcony were gorgeous. The staff were so lovely made you feel right at home. Cocktails were 👌🏻and the food is absolutely delicious you can really tell the chef cares about what he is plating up
Great view, cosy common areas and the friendliest hosts I've had the pleasure of staying at during my month in Colombia. They will go the extra mile to ensure you are enjoying your stay and give ample suggestions on activities during your stay. Fresh & filtered water and even hot showers available as well.
it’s in downtown Minca by the transportation station, so I thought it might be loud, but it was quiet and very clean. the wall in the courtyard is a good sound barrier. 😊 also the people who run the hotel are very nice and helpful 🦜😊 It was affordable, friendly and unexpectedly quiet of street sounds.
Absolutely everything. The staff is really nice and they took great care of me when I was sick, going to the pharmacy to pick up medicine. Not to mention the ball pool for the kids and the fantastic view. Our family had a fantastic time in this hotel. If we come back to Colombia we will go back there
Waking by the sound of the bird almost totally in the middle of nature was a very good experience. It was only 20 min by foot from Minca city center, and you easily access to waterfalls and good hikes around the accommodation. Really, my highlight in my Colombian trip
Awesome location, 10 minute walk to town( easy and safe), and located on the river. That had a nice pool, but we enjoying the river so much that we never used the pool. Excellent free breakfast. Very nice family run hotel. I would definitely stay there again..
The location is great - amazing views from the restaurant balcony and pool area. Bathroom looked outdated, but this was the best shower we've had in Colombia - hot water, good water pressure, and spacious.
My room at Coffee House Minca was very clean, and almost brand new. It is located close enough to cafes and restaurants to walk within a minute or so, but also very quiet at night. Breakfast is delicious!
This place is amazing. My favourite hostel in colombia. Great food, insane location, set in the grounds of a coffee plantation with its own private waterfalls. Easy to meet people in a relaxed way.
