We so enjoyed our brief visit to charming Creede!

We so enjoyed our brief visit to charming Creede! The townspeople were so friendly, and the area is spectacularly scenic and historic. We stayed at the wonderful Aspen Inn, visited with friendly people and had a margarita at Kip's, ate dinner at the Creede Hotel (delicious blackened red snapper), then finished the evening listening to live music at Tommknocker's. We enjoyed browsing local shops, finding artisanal treasures and chatting with store owners. Wish we had more time to spend in Creede.--We will have to come back!

    Tiny shops, galleries and eateries.

Tiny shops, galleries and eateries. Old mining town with history to explore, stories to hear and places to see. GORGEOUS scenery and hiking. Plenty of places within a short drive also worth exploring. Last Chance Mine -where you can pretend you’re a miner, and stay overnight for whatever DONATION you can make! The jewelry and pottery and art of all kinds from local artisans...and therefore the amazing prices!!!

A quaint old Colorado mining town with lots of charm.

A quaint old Colorado mining town with lots of charm. Several art galleries ant tourist knick knack shops. Restaurants in town close early evening (8pm) and the bakery is the only place for a breakfast (sandwich). The Creede Reperatory theater is fabulous - go if you are there when they have a performance. There is nothing like it.

I am looking for a place to move in the middle of nowhere.

I am looking for a place to move in the middle of nowhere. Creede is that place. It's basically a cul-de-sac. Hwy 149 goes into Creede but unless you want to go up into an old mining area you have to make a U-turn & head back out of town. There are conveniences that small towns have but nothing commercial except the Tompkins Ace hardware store; but that is as commercial as it gets. Beautiful relaxing views all the way around. No dogs barking, no ambulances at 3am, no neighbors blowing the leaves out of the yard at 7am. Just a relaxed, quaint, fun place to visit...or live! Oh and I hear the fishing is out of this world. That isn't my thing but if it is yours, there are many scenic places from which to fish with abundant yields!
