I should have done more research on what to do outside of Gatlinburg. The main town was a tourist trap with the chain restaurants and souvenir shops, old time photo shops and taffy candy stores. Parking was between $10-$20 at each lot, and it was crowded for end of April. Aside from the skywalk, I wasn’t too impressed. However driving along rt441 through the Smokies was the biggest highlight of the trip. It’s a stunning location, just find something to do outside the hub.

This was our third time to Gatlinburg for more than one night. One time we camped but we were too far out of town. Last summer and this spring we stayed at an inexpensive hotel in town. We love being able to walk to different restaurants and shops. We liked Crockett's for breakfast but be sure to go early - before 8:30 because there are long lines otherwise. We also enjoyed the Cherokee Grill which does take reservations and the Best Italian cafe and Pizzeria. The pizza was very good New York style pizza. For fine dining, the Greenbriar is off the beaten path and hands down one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant. It is pricey so I wouldn't bring children there. We enjoy the hiking and did a nice hike up Chimney Tops to the lookout. It took us 3.5 hours up and back down. I also highly recommend Cades Cove. If you like biking ,they close the 11 mile loop to cars on Wednesdays. We biked it and saw 11 bear in 11 miles! The free trolley is great for getting around Gatlinburg but can be a long wait and very crowded.

We had such a blast even with our 15 month old son, our 14-year-old loves going to pigeon Forge to ride the go carts. Dicks last resort is definitely a go to for dinner, but you have to be able to take the comedy in raunchiness. So much fun! The hospitality was amazing 🥰 I love going to the candy store along the strip right past the rolling ball. They have such a selection of gummy‘s and that is one of my favorite things. The Ripleys arcade and gift shop is really fun too they have rubber snakes and two headed animal stuffed animals. Would definitely recommend anybody. Even the adult side of things was fun 🤩

Gatlinburg is a great location to use as a base for hiking...
Gatlinburg is a great location to use as a base for hiking the Great Smoky Mountains. BUT the 'town' of Gatlinburg is a mix of a bad theme park and tacky portion of Las Vegas. Such a shame that the town was not developed as a lovely base of a hiking village for the National Park.
Zoders is in a perfect location - on the north end of Gatlinburg so you can avoid the traffic when heading north. It's a five minute walk to the center of town. The grounds are spectacular: great diversity of rooms that I had fun expolring, a firepit area that is peaceful and a great indoor pool so you can take a dip even in cold December. I had a room with a balcony right on the river - I kept the door open all night to I could listen to the water.
For those of us who only need a clean, functional hotel room to sleep this place is perfect. The location is amazing and the staff were helpful. The parking garage is very practical and made us feel safe, especially when a storm rolled in. Plus the continental breakfast was quite filling. We didn’t use the pool or gym so I can’t comment on that.
Hotel is one street behind the main street of Gatlinburg. Easy to leave your car parked and walk up to the main street by the Ober Gatlinburg tram station. Check in was easy. Room was spotlessly clean and all appliances worked well. Check in clerk went out of his way to make me aware of the breakfast services they offered.
The hotel room was pleasant and it is possible to park the car just in front of the room. Breakfast is also served in morning.
The hotel is adequately located in the heart of Gatlinburg which is a surprising "theme park-like " town- which needs to be visited at least once in a lifetime (may be not twice!).
We loved the central location to downtown Gatlinburg. It was very easy to shop and bring things back to the room so we didn't have to carry heavy bags around. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided was very good. It was an excellent hotel.
Beautiful hotel, lobby was gorgeous, rooms very clean and modern, comfortable beds, huge pool ( kiddie -5ft)
Microwave, refrigerator, loved that it was in walking distance to downtown . The staff was extremely friendly and I will definitely be back next trip down to Gatlinburg!
Loved how you keep fire pits on at all times and keep pools open and food until 11!!!!
A lot of hotels close a littler earlier and I really enjoyed it and would stay again. Staff doesn’t really bother you and lets you have a good time! Major plus
The hotel is about 25 minutes' walk from Gatlinburg downtown, the positive is that you are away from all the fuss, but the negative is that when you come back tired you have to walk that climb or park in the parking lot with a cost of $20.
Room was large, Beds were fairly comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall cleanliness was excellent. Fire pits were nice and the kids enjoyed the pool. Very close to downtown Gatlinburg, hotel provided a parking pass.
We have stayed at this hotel previously. The rooms are always clean. One of our queen beds had what appeared to be old rough sheets on them that need to be replaced. The location near downtown Gatlinburg is ideal though.
The hotel was very clean and well kept. Location was walkable to downtown there was also a trolley stop out front. The staff was super friendly. Great balcony over looking river.
The bears that were close to the hotels.
Wild life is the best here.
It was perfect located to go walking to the downtown.
A lot of stuff to do in Gatlinburg.
We were able to check in early.
The hotel needs updates, but rooms were spacious and we were in walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg. The price was great.
