Country House Retreat is part of a family owned accommodation business. As professional hosts, we've been welcoming guests to our Nungurner properties for 10 years. It's an overused term, but Nungurner is one of those rare hidden gems you've probably never heard of, but will be so glad you found! The property is just a 15 minute drive from Lakes Entrance, and less than 10 minutes from Metung and the Metung Hot Springs, but with wide open spaces surrounding you, you'll feel your 100 miles from the holiday crowds. We live adjacent to the property on a working farm, so there's often sheep or cattle grazing in the paddock adjacent to the property. We're close by if you need any assistance throughout your stay, but will otherwise leave you to enjoy this beautiful property uninterrupted. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful rural hamlet.

Country House Retreat is a holiday house designed for the whole family to enjoy. Perfectly positioned between the popular tourist towns of Lakes Entrance and Metung, the property is situated on 50 acres, offering privacy, peace and a taste of country living. This is a place to escape the pressures of modern day life, come together and relax with friends or family in a beautiful rural setting. Offering four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the house sleeps up to 10 guests. The outdoor deck features a wood fire pizza oven, Weber BBQ, outdoor dining under fairy lights and hammmock for lazy days in the sun. The outdoor hot tub is heated year round, and provides fun and relaxation for all ages. If you're feeling more active, challenge your mates or kids to a game of table tennis in the adjacent shed. Pets are welcome at the property, which offers a huge lawn area and secure fencing. The property is accessible, and we have a number of mobility aids available on request for guests who may need them.

Neighborhood info

The Gippsland Lakes region is much loved for its unspoilt beaches and coastline, and sheltered inland lake system which allows for fishing, boating and paddling to be enjoyed year round. There are a number of tour operators offering the chance to get out on the water and view the marine life. For fishing enthusiasts, you can also join a fishing charter and head out into the ocean through the man made entrance (how Lakes Entrance got its name). Opened in November 2022, the Metung Hot Springs offers bathing in geothermal pools overlooking the Gippsland Lakes, and a range of wellness options, located just 10 minutes drive from our property. For adventures on two wheels, you will find world class mountain bike trails just 5 minutes drive from here, at the nearby Colquhoun Forest. A day trip to the Buchan Caves is not to be missed, where you can tour through a honeycomb of spectacular formations almost 400 million years old! Experiencing the local food and wine in this region is also a highlight of your stay. From fresh seafood you can purchase right off the boat, to a delicious meal at a waterfront pub, you are spoilt for choice.
